  1. I realize that, but the posters above wanted their “what if” scenario so I was throwing the question out there.
  2. With the recent chat about signing Rutschman to an extension... If it was to ever be a reality and not just some fantasy thing on here, do you think the Davis contract situation makes them hesitate? Such as, they sign him long term to a large dollar amount and they run him into the ground in half the time of the contract, with a “walking wounded” Rutschman on the books for the last half?
  3. Or add in the end of last season and Spring Training. 34 strike outs in 97 at bats.
  4. Came in during a tough situation in the 8th and shut the door on the Rangers.
  5. Simple reason I didn’t: No one has defended Severino’s play with “he needs to play more to see what he can do!” or “THIS is the season he has to show us!” Yes, Sevy isn’t the best defender either. Maybe he got hot for a month and it was the end of Spring to the first week of the season. They do, but I wouldn’t rush Maverick Handley. Or were you talking about Jordan Cannon?
  6. 0-3 with 3 strike outs by Sisco. He is now hitting .150 with a .300 OPS. This isn’t just a slump to open the season. He hit .100 with a .370 OPS in the Spring and .175 with a .313 OPS in September of last year, ending with a .214 average for 2020. He is 3-3 though on catching runners. Didn’t get to watch the game, so not sure how he was in the 10th, but @Tony-OH made a point: Spare me the “but win/losses don’t matter! Who cares who they play this season!?” If they don’t care, cut bait with Sisco and put in Wynns or Cuiffo. Hell, put both in. Maybe they can make the team worse. Maybe one of them brings back a D+ DSL player in July. Put in a catcher that can also, I don’t know...Catch? Figured that was the point of the position too. If you’re gonna be a back up, atleast know how to use that piece of leather that you wear on your left hand...
  7. Box score from the first game. Pretty cool they are doing this.
  8. Keegan Akin started yesterday in Fredericksburg and retired the last eight batters in an 8-7 win. He allowed two runs in three innings. Eric Hanhold struck out two batters in a scoreless inning and Fernando Abad picked up the save with a 1-2-3 ninth. Mason McCoy hit a three-run homer and doubled. Ryan Ripken had a single and double. Stevie Wilkersoncollected two hits and an RBI.
  9. For those who have gone and may have noticed, was the Authentic Shop open?
  10. Keep an eye out for who is on the Taxi Squad for this trip. That might tell you something.
  11. Last quote was that he was almost ready for some games at the Alternate Site before being activated. Probably plays this weekend there then comes off next week when they return.
  12. The site says cashless. Also, when you buy tickets it gives you an option to buy parking too. The lot opening only an hour before first pitch is annoying. I’m paying to park and not be in a garage or at the Inner Harbor, why can’t they open before the gates?
  13. Once he had some MLB time, he could afford the extra boxes of Froot Loops so he got an extra bowl a day.
  14. Little more from Rich’s blog: The Orioles played their first alternate site game yesterday and defeated the Nationals 9-2 in Bowie. Thomas Eshelman started and allowed an unearned run and two hits in three innings, with no walks and three strikeouts. Eric Hanhold struck out five batters in two hitless innings. Fernando Abad and Isaac Mattson each tossed a perfect inning with two strikeouts. Richie Martin had two hits, including an RBI double, a walk and two stolen bases. Jahmai Jones and Yusniel Diaz homered and singled. Austin Wynns also homered and Brett Cumberland had two hits. The teams meet again Friday in Fredericksburg
  15. Just being in the field instead of Mountcastle can do wonders for someone’s WAR. Do you remember if he was still this lean when Spring Training started? Wondering if he lost the weight to help the hamstring injury.
  16. I don’t think he was just talking about pitching...
  17. Stewart. But that is also like asking which one bites softer: a crocodile or an alligator.
  18. Also using Jahmai or Bannon would give some infield depth. That’s a lot of outfielders with Stewart, McKenna, Santander, Mullins, and Mountcastle on a 3 man bench.
  19. I’m not sure what’s up with Armstrong. New dad, so maybe he just needs to work off some rust and get some sleep. Fry has almost always been a “pitch to contact” guy that keeps the ball on the ground (usually.) In 2019 he was over used later in the season. Not sure about 2020 as I didn’t watch much.
  20. Pat Valaika was optioned to Bowie. No corresponding move yet, but looks to clear the way for DJ.
  21. You’re better off talking to a brick wall.
  22. I’ve heard better calls from YouTubers during MLB The Show gameplay. I really wish Adam Pohl would get a shot. He is really good at conveying emotion and what is happening during Baysox games, including adding emotion during the big plays.
