MINNEAPOLIS -- The Twins signed free-agent outfielder Josh Willingham to a three-year deal worth $21 million, the club announced Thursday.

The announcement came two days after news broke that the club was close to reaching an agreement with Willingham. Willingham, 32, officially will be introduced to the media in a conference call Friday with his agent, Matt Sosnick, and Twins general manager Terry Ryan.
