This whole series, when the Royals D makes a big play or the O's blow a scoring chance, the Royals always come back the next half inning and get somebody on. They have used the momentum better than any team I've ever seen.

Babip is a season statistic that can be used to point out luck and unlucky players. One of the reasons why it works so well is that over the course of a season a team will invariably play different teams of different skills across the spectrum. Games against great defenses, fly ball pitchers, home run parks, ground ball specialists, elite infielders, crappy outfielders, error prone shortstops... you face them all and it all goes in to your BABIP.

Using BABIP for a series against only 1 opponent doesn't work when trying to determine luck. It just tells you how good the other team is at fielding balls in play.
