I know, I mean, would we complain that much if Clevenger had been traded even-up for CJ?

Yeah this is about what I would have expected for Clevenger. Almost surprised that Seattle gave up something so decent along with Trumbo.

All I can think is that CJ was the 40th man on the roster and was likely to be DFAed soon.

It's funny, last night when I read that the Orioles got Mark Trumbo in a trade for Steve Clevenger I thought I was reading it wrong. Heck, just C.J. Riefenhauser for Steve Clevenger wouldn't have been too bad for the Orioles

Mark Trumbo wasn't traded for Steve Clevenger. Mark Trumbo was traded for 9 million dollars.

Trumbo?s 131 career home runs (in 2,554 at-bats) would rank 15th on the Orioles all-time home run list, 10 behind Nick Markakis, who had 141 homers in 5,331 at-bats for the O?s.

Trumbo?s 131 home runs would be the second-most among Orioles batters with fewer than 2,600 at-bats. Chris Davis leads the way with 161 home runs in 2,245 at-bats for the O?s. Trumbo would be second, followed by Jim Gentile (124 home runs in 1,911 at bats), Harold Baines (107 home runs in 2,121 at-bats) and Gary Roenicke (106 home runs in 2,217 at-bats).

Trumbo has three career walk-off home runs: July 8, 2011 off of David Pauley to give the Angels a 4-3 win over Seattle; Aug. 28, 2011 off Mike Adams to give the Angels a 2-1 win over Texas; May 28, 2012 off Cory Wade to give the Angels a 9-8 win over the Yankees.
