Manfred: MLB teams should plan for ST to start on time and play 162-games

Up until now, the party line has been start camp on time (except for the delay in A & AA camp until the higher levels had cleared out of the sites), season on time.

P&Cs are due to report 3 weeks from tomorrow.   Here is the first whiff of a potenial delaying factor, from the Cactus League Cities:

Not unexpected, but a bummer nonetheless.

I wonder how many of last year's 30 alternate sites could support MLB + AAA guys getting ready in 3 weeks, though I guess at most of those you lack the multiple mounds and fields for reps the Grapefruit and Cactus complexes have.

If the Jays are talking about playing at Dunedin, the Orioles maybe could practice at Bowie.   Level up the pitching Gunnar's seeing there again....that John Means is a tough at-bat.
