  1. 4-for-49 w/RISP after that Mountcastle K. I smell another ineptitude record. Are there any left that the Orioles don't hold since 2018?
  2. The Orioles probably have him on a 65-70 pitch count the way they do things.
  3. Worse thing that happened in that at bat to Mullins was the WP that move Bembroom into scoring position. Then you knew Mullins had no change. 4-for-48 w/RISP
  4. This issue that's being brought up is we're in year four and Spenser Watkins is starting game five, Odor is the starting 2B against right-handers, and they have no good left-handed power stick on the roster despite having a short RF porch. I've been a supporter of how Elias was rebuilding but this year is making me concerned by the lack of step forward.
  5. Well of course, why would you want to let people know when the top prospects in baseball will be able to play again? Why give fans hope when you can give them Watkins and Owings?
  6. I say don't mess with what works.
  7. Being on here should be fun. If you don't enjoy the back and forth, then lurk, but people are not going to really change unless you can change their opinions with facts, stats, or a well laid out opinion. And even then, you will probably only get them to agree to disagree. lol There are reasons to be optimistic (The system is filled with good hitting prospects and few top pitching prospects) and there are obviously a lot of reasons to be negative. I for one go with the flow. If I'm positive about something, I'll be positive, if I'm not, I'm not. I don't hold grudges if we disagree and hell, even if we get into it, I don't hold grudges. if i agree with you in another post i may give you rep or say I agree. It's never personal. Some people for some reason make it personal with others. Trust me, I see the reported posts and I know who doesn't like who! lol I ding people occasionally as reminders to play nice once in awhile, but for the mist part, 99.99% of the people on here understand and abide by the rules. Saying all that, if we ever have a good team at the major league level, I'm sure the board will swing more positive. But it's not going to be the day after last night's frustrating game that dropped the Orioles to the worse record in MLB (1-4).
  8. The Orioles are doing what they've done since Elias purged all the old school guys from the minor league system and scouting. They keep everything close to the vest for information about everything and everybody. I think Elias sees no benefit in getting any information out that he doesn't have to and since it's pretty obvious the entire organization from ownership down does not care about provide fans information or 1st class broadcasts, or you know, winning at the major league level, it kinda is what it is at this point.
  9. @Frobbyis the Baseball Reference master that can probably dig something up if he has time!
  10. Roch is not dumb. He gets the same old stuff from the team about day to day, bruises and such so there really isn't more to report until he finally got the BP stuff.
  11. From what I heard, the Rangers staff threw a party when Blood was hired by the Orioles. He likes to be interviewed and spew his propaganda and then move on. The Orioles lack of information on players is certainly in order to hide as much as they can from other teams so they can get the fan boy blogs to tell everyone how great every is so the echo chamber across the national prospect sites can plug their players. That's not to say there's not talent in the system, there certainly is, but I take everything and anything from Blood's mouth with a bag full of salt.
  12. Good Lord, I forgot all about him.
  13. I'm ok with playing service time for guys like Adley and Grayson Rodrigueuz, I'm not for the Bradish's of the world. I understand just fine how Elias' logic works, I just don't agree with it with guys like Bradish. Then again, this entire franchise is run like a rural Alabama Dollar Store. We'll see though. Outside of these service games, I'm getting very concerned that Elias and his staff have any clue on how to properly develop pitching to be successful at the major league level.
  14. Meanwhile other Franchises are starting their top prospect rookies on Day one of the year.
  15. Elias has made a conscious decision to not draft pitchers in the first ten rounds. In his three drafts he's drafted exactly four pitchers in the first ten rounds: 2021 Draft - Carlos Tavera (5th round) 2020 Draft - Carter Baumler (5th round) 2019 Draft - Griffin McLarty (8th round) and Connor Gillispie (9th Round) McLarty and Gillispie are not Top-30 prospects, Baumler has already under gone Tommy John Surgery, and Tavera is 23 years old and has exactly 14.1 professional innings pitched so far. Now it's very early in the season, but typically, with the colder weather of the spring, pitchers are usually ahead of he hitters a bit, but the pitching has been pretty bad overall in the Orioles system, particularly in Delmarva. The control has been pretty bad across the board which makes you wonder about the Orioles development program. The Orioles pitchers have very low pitch count numbers for their pitchers compared to the other teams they've been facing and you have to wonder about their ability to get them ready for their seasons when almost all of them do not look very sharp. In addition, the Orioles treat some of the better prospects with such kid gloves that you have to wonder when they will get on the mound enough to develop. Pitchers rarely throw over 80 pitches and if you get hurt, they'll rehab you for months or in Baumler's case, well over 17 months when most pitchers are back on the mound. It'll be interesting to watch the pitching this year and while they should get better than this poor start, Delmarva's pitching staff is going to be very bad unless they get new talent in. I sure hope the Orioles will be able to trade for pitching from their positional strength because outside of Rodriguez, Hall, Bradish and maybe Pinto and Rom, there's not a lot in the cupboard to get excited about.
  16. We all agree that Hyde has not been given very much talent to work with since he's been manager here. But last night was one of those nights where he showed he may not be ready to be a manager with a good team. He burns his only left-handed batter on the bench in Odor in the 6th inning without him batting. Why? Did he not think there could be a time when he there could be a better matchup choice later in the game especially when he knows he's going to have a very right-handed lineup and the Brewers have a right-handed setup guy who is much better against righties than lefties? And while that was bad enough, Hyde very well may be only manager in the history of baseball who pinch hits McKenna against a mid-90s throwing right-hander with a good changeup. It's like he was frustrated and was like, let me try every possible wrong move and see if it comes through. BTW, whoever evaluated Owings and thinks he can play SS effectively at the major league level needs to turn in their evaluation card.
  17. Great post and on point from my perspective. it is time for every one of Zimmermann, Akins, Baumann, Kremer (if he gets healthy again), Lowther, Bradish, T. Wells and even A. Wells to get their shots a starters. If they are found wanting, you try them as bullpen pieces, and if that doesn't work you move on. This season should be about what holes they need to fill next offseason to make this club a legitimate contender. if this team is not a legitimate contender by next year, Elias has failed in his rebuild.
  18. This ^^^^^^^^^ Bradish is 25-years old already, he's not a guy you play service time games with. Rodriguez I understand completely, not not Bradish. I'm not saying Bradish can't improve because it takes him a lot of pitches to normally get guys out (part of my concern with him staying a starter long term) but he needs to take his lumps for a bit at the major league level and learn and hopefully improve. Or, we find out he's a better fit for the bullpen and that's one less guy you count on next year in the rotation when you better be competing for a playoff spot.
  19. I agree. I still have some questions whether Bradish can stay a starter or will be better in a relief role, but we need to find that out at the major league level.
  20. Hell, that may be the first year they let Baumler pitch in a real game.
  21. I would bring up Harvey talking smack about the trainers, but we all know Diaz can't stay healthy. He could be bubblewrapped and be put into a backback of another player who was forced to run for him and he'd end up getting hurt.
  22. Put your hand down Mike, we already know you do. This should be a transition year where the Orioles are seeing what they have in their young pitching. Bradish is one of those guys, but he was starting in Norfolk tonight sitting in the mid-90s while allowing just two hits with six Ks in 4 IP while Watkins is unable to make a throw to first base. So the question is at this point, is Elias still not trying to win, or is he and his staff unable to evaluate talent? What world should Watkins be getting starts over Bradish?
  23. What, you mean giving Odor, Owings, McKenna, Watkins and Fry isn't giving him a chance? lol
  24. On the bright side, at least only like 7000 people had to waste their money on tickets for this embarrassment.
