  1. From Roch's Blog this morning. Very annoying that they are going to wait until Tuesday! Orioles minor leaguers are breaking spring training camp today and heading north, hitting the road and catching flights to join their respective affiliates for the resumption of a season that never got off the ground in 2020. Teams will announce their rosters on Tuesday as an attachment to opening day.
  2. Given the issues he has had over the last year, got to be Kjerstad. Been a tough start so really hoping he is healthy and has a big year

    59 feet, 1 inch

That's cool - thanks for the cool observation. I read somewhere that one of the minor leagues they are using for rule experimentation will move back the distance by 1 foot, and will play at 61 feel 6 inches today.
  4. I have to say - MLB really screwed up with the lack of information available on the minors programs. I don't think this is just the O's - not hearing anything out of any minor league camps. There are fans like us who are interested. In this day and age of information overload, how is it that you can't get any news from the minos?
  5. I do hope they go for quality over quantity though. Different time in the rebuild.
  6. This is becoming a fascinating situation for the O's. Means has dominated the early part of the season. If he can keep it up for the next couple months, you could hope someone knocks their socks off with an offer at the deadline. He will have an incredible amount of value with 3 more years of control after this. While getting closer to competitiveness, they would have to consider trading him. Maybe the Mariners hang in there and want to make a splash? White Sox are always ready to deal. What would be a strong package for a 28 year old all-star starter with 3 more years of control?
  7. how about throwing 3 guys for an average of 3 innings each, with 3 days rest. So you need 4 sets of 3, as your staff. With one reliever who could come in when you need a 4th pitcher for any game.
  8. Ed Rod from the Sox missed all of last year with Myocardiosis following Covid. Clearly there is precedent for these longer term absences.
  9. Will we be able to get any updates from minor league camps?? Are they reporting yet?

  11. Yankees release C Robinson Chirinos Yankees released C Robinson Chirinos. Advice: Chirinos, who was in Yankees' camp on a minor-league deal, recently underwent surgery to repair a fractured right wrist. The 36-year-old backstop should find an opportunity somewhere in the majors during the 2021 campaign. NBCSportsEDGE.com Yesterday, 1:04 pm Player Note Robinson Chirinos NYY - C NA   Indians designate C Beau Taylor for assignment Indians designated C Beau Taylor for assignment. Advice: Taylor was optioned to the team's alternate training site earlier this week and has now been removed from the 40-man roster. The 31-year-old backstop could remain with the organization as an insurance catcher if he passes through waivers unclaimed. NBCSportsEDGE.comYesterday, 12:38 pm
  12. Is anyone else getting really concerned with Sisco and his complete inability to show a sign of life this spring??
  13. He was given every opportunity and didn't lock it down. no one to blame but himself. We have better options at this point. BTW, it's not like he came in in great shape or anything.
  14. Lieter with 7 more no-hit innings tonight. Was pulled with high pitch count, but will go into next game with 16 straight no-hit innings over 2 starts.
  15. more than. perfect. 8 batters, 9 outs. I got to watch on NESN, which is now streaming on my cable system. He worked fast, looked great.
  16. Just found out tonight I get NESN on my cable network in NJ and got to watch the end of the game. Wow, Loether was awesome. Literally mowed them down - 8 batters, 9 outs (inherited a bases loaded/no out situation and got a double play).
  17. I think rotation is pretty clear at this point....Means, Harvey, Akin, Kremmer, Zimmerman. don't see the need to find another 40 man spot for LeBlanc.
  18. Love to see 3 homegrown lefties in the rotation this year.
  19. they are not this bad. Maybe a good thing that they struggle now.
  20. I don't see enough difference in Franco over Ruiz. Ruiz still young...only 26. It wouldn't be the craziest thing if he found a bit more power and hit 30 homers this season. In which case his value is much higher than Franco.
  21. Didn't stop him last year from sending back the 2 Rule 5's - who arguably had more potential than this year's pair.
  22. Felix Hernandez tonight - 2 innings, 1 hit, 2 runs, 2 walks and strikeouts. O's radio said FB was in the 84-86 range.
