  1. Why does this thread keep getting highjacked with personal arguments. Please.
  2. I don't think you can call a guy who hasn't played a professional game under-rated.
  3. And second thing is that most appear to be up the middle...Catcher/SS/CF. Looks like they are going for the athletes.
  4. Put the names and related info from article into list form....feel free to update as more info becomes available: Samuel Basallo (16) - Catcher - DR - $1.3mm; Basallo, who turned 16 on Aug. 13, has some raw power and an arm that gets some 60 grades from scouts. But he is a big catcher already at 6-foot-3 and 198 lbs. and could outgrow the catching position. A lefty batter, he was once linked to the Yankees. Maikol Hernandez (17) SS - Venezuela - $1.2mm; Hernandez is 6-foot-4 and 175 lbs., and has several impressive tools with a strong arm and power. He’s drawn some comparisons to bigger shortstops at young ages like Carlos Correa and Manny Machado. He is considered a plus runner with a strong arm and power. He was previously linked to the Cardinals and Pirates. Wilmer Feliciano (16) OF - DR - $300-400K; He is a 6-foot-2 lefty batter with power and is expected to get the club’s third-highest bonus in this class. Teudis Cortorreal (16) OF/CF - DR- $300-400K; a player with power potential Victor Celedonio (16) - SS - DR- $300-400K; a switch-hitter. Eruviel Castillo (16) - SS - DR- $300-400K; Anderson De Lo Santos (16) - SS - DR- $300-400K; Yasmil Bucce (16) C - Venezuela- $300-400K; a solid hitting prospect. Angel Tejada (16) SS - DR - $200K; Aneudis Mordan (16) C - DR - $200K; Junior Lara (16) CF - DR - > $200K; Angel Pena (16) CF - DR - >$200K; Daivy Cruz (16) LHP - Venezuela - >$200K
  5. Extending the draft anaology, it's the same concept of would you prefer the first pick or the last pick + the first pick in the second round in your fantasy snake draft. Both have virtue!
  6. With international signing day moved to January, the next big day in the offseason calendar around the corner. Are we expecting the Orioles to sign 1. anyone of significance; 2. anyone who will play on a full season team; 3; anyone who could impact our top 30?
  7. Well we did get rid of 3 of our top hitters in Alberto, Iglasias and Nunez, so I wouldn't say "there is no doubt the team will be better..." In fact most prognosticators have us being worse. That said, I do think we will show some progress in the w/l column and with the pitching in particular. I'd like to see us "waste" a couple million bucks on a few free agents that could help, but expect next winter before they start spending. Another year of losing gets us one more high pick in 2022 to go with the #5 we'll have next summer. Covid will be done, and we can expect a 162 game season (with fans) in 2022. Perhaps they'll be ready to release Chris Davis, but at worst will have him just one more year. They'll have a much better sense of progress with young pitchers coming up, and Rutchman will like be ready to go. Makes much more sense to start spending money next winter.
  8. So with no short seson team or league, and the draft being pushed back a month, should we expect that most of the players drafted this year will just go to instructional leagues and not really get any game action? Perhaps some of the older/higher draft picks get added to full season rosters for the playoff push, but I would think that will be minimal.
  9. ONly if the Cubs will take Chris Davis in return ?
  10. the guy makes me ill. he is either lying or a complete idiot (or both). He can't possibly enjoy going out there an being horrible. He doesn't have a plan to get better. he's just collecting checks and i have no respect for that considering the money he's already made.
  11. Dunning is now out of the equation. Righty Dane Dunning is heading to Texas in the return, Jeff Passan of ESPN tweets. The Rangers will also receive a second player, per Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News. It’ll be another young pitcher, according to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com.
  12. Yes, this is good. Been trying to understand the AAA phase as well. Seems that you need to place players on the 38 man AAA roster to avoid selection in the minor league phase. IF they are selected in the minor league phase, there is no roster requirements - the player just gets moved to the new org. I mention this because after discussing if Zach Pop gets added ot the 40 man to protect from Rule 5, it appears he is not even on the 38 man AAA roster. He is listed on the roster of the AA Baysox, meaning he can be selected by another org in the minor league phase without any risk. Am I missing something?
  13. Is there a list of O's minor leaguers who are eligible to be drafted in the rule 5 this week?
  14. sad but i'm more excited for the minor league season than the ML. I also live in NJ and very escited that the Yankees moved there AA team to Somerset, a mere 30 minutes from me!
  15. Middle Infield Prospects (MLB Top 30) Henderson (6) Westburg (7) Vavra (13) Hall (16) Servido (20) Bannon (25) Graffiano (30) Herniaz (nr/OH 19) McCoy (NR) Grenier (NR) Missing anyone?
  16. Michael Wacha. Just cause I like saying his last name. Wacha wacha wacha!
  17. This list feels a lot deeper this year. Legitimate MLB prospects all the way at the bottom of the list for the first time since I can remember.
  18. Aren't we still due a couple from somewhere? Now that the WS is over, the exciting part of the year for Orioles fans can start!
  19. my takeaway from 2020 is Mountcastle, Hays, Akin, Kremer, and to lesser extent Mullins. Santander and Iglesias did good things. Means finished strong. Hope.
  20. I'd really like to get a look at Diaz.

    Joey Ortiz

Love it! Assume you're related? Any insight into the work the guys are doing this summer?
  22. Was thinking about Alberto when the Padres trade was announced. A trade for someone like Trammel would have been very interesting. Would think Alberto would be at least as valuable as Nola?
