  1. 8/9 242. I missed Tampa 30+ steals initially, I went with Randy Winn trying to get cute with the rarity score instead of just going with Carl Crawford who I selected next. Left Philly/Tampa open.
  2. I have to say, born outside of the US 50 States and DC is my least favorite category. It's dumb. Okay, this is just showing off.
  3. Luzardo. Couple years younger, 3 years instead of two, has better command of his pitches, lefty. He should cost more and that’s fine. I don’t think either of the two are realistic for us though.
  4. Heyman's kind of a doofus but Dan Clark, IIRC, really doesn't have any credibility.
  5. Looking forward to seeing what cast of characters the Jays underachieve with in 2024.
  6. Braves getting Kelenic was interesting. Probably puts up a .900 OPS as they win the division next year.
  7. That is sad news to hear. Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends, indeed.
  8. Good, glad you see things my way.
  9. This is also taking the argument a bit too far. Ruth today would have access to training (in season and off-season), diet and equipment that he didn't have back then. The difference in park dimensions, how tight the ball is wound and bat size would be huge for him. If he had any sort of discipline, he could still be a very good player. He had freak hand/eye coordination, that's always an advantage no matter the era. I don't believe anyone thinks he'd be as good as he was when he was playing but I do believe he'd still be very good. To say he "would not be able to hang in today's game" is a bit much, IMO.
  10. Ruth never did it full time like Ohtani did. He'd either pitch part time or hit part time. Free agency isn't the only way to build a team.
  11. I love it when people talk about financial irresponsibility when it's not their money.
  12. 8/9/. Royals/Nats got me, then I saw that the most popular player was Michael A. Taylor and I'm pretty sure I've used him before for the same grid. That was annoying. Orioles line was 4.3% 184
  13. He was great, maybe a notch below Ozzie Smith but I think he’s largely been forgotten now, odd considering he didn’t play all that long ago. Wright was the first Met I actually thought of for GG but I wanted to do better on the rarity score.
  14. 9/9 128. The Saturdays remain my favorite. Rey Ordonez, Howard Johnson, David Wright Andrelton Simmons, Bob Horner, Spencer Strider Barry Bonds, Bobby Bonds, Buster Posey
  15. I think we’ll get more of the same; players moving off the market and then finding a day or two later that the Orioles “had interest.” Would love to be wrong.
  16. 9/9 221 Just wanted to get through it, only really obvious players were coming to mind.
  17. Kimbrel and Chapman are approaching the end of their lines. If the Orioles feel that they can roll the dice and get one more effective year out of them, I guess so.
  18. I'd love to get Hader. That would help immensely in 2024 and we'd look even better in 2025 when Bautista returns. Not gonna happen though.
  19. Montas would be the poor man's 2024 version of Matt Harvey.
  20. We agree, they are in a different place. And they should be able to trade these guys....I agree, he HAS to. I just don't know who is on the market from other teams. The Woo thing sounds good in theory, but you started the OP talking about what's realistic which is why I tried to steer it towards FA. In talking about free agents, there's a bit more clarity on what could be realistic. Even though we agree that he has to trade some of these guys, I can see a scenario where he holds his cards until the deadline during next summer.
