  1. Play in the tail end of the Negro Leagues, be the only player with 15+ seasons of 30 homers, endure death threats and constant racism to break the single most beloved record in sports history and you can be as arrogant as you want. If anyone's earned it, it's him.
  2. Looking at it from another perspective, it was his best outing of the season.
  3. Well clearly you do so...everyone else needs to fall in.
  4. I wonder when people will understand small sample sizes.
  5. I want to see how he adjusts after he experiences a slump before thinking about if it's sustainable or not.
  6. On that list I count a few guys who's rookie cards I coveted, thinking I would be rich someday.
  7. Hell, Davis is a better pitcher. Small sample size, but whatever.
  8. I don't feel bad. I know we just talked about Davis in the other thread, but Davis was great once and is seeking to get back to that. Wright never was. It's a mystery to all of us as to how long he's stayed in the bigs for so long.
  9. It doesn't have me bummed. I don't know about any of you guys but I've learned a lot about myself in regards to the whole Davis situation. I've been pretty harsh on here, maybe a little too harsh in regards to him. I've said it before, I'll say it again...no one likes to suck that much at their job no matter how much money they're making. And ESPECIALLY in a situation where you're making headlines for BEING TERRIBLE. He can't hide anywhere, it's all out on front street for every baseball fan to see. That being said, how happy were we all for him when he got his first hit? How happy were we for him when he hit his first homer? Sparked a rally to win a game last week? It feels SO GOOD to be happy for that guy. Davis, by all accounts, is a good dude and his teammates seem to love him. You don't hear any "anonymous teammates" griping about him in the media. You DO hear that he's worked hard to get himself out of whatever's been effecting him over the past two seasons. This team is way more fun when Davis is a threat at the plate. If he can get back to a .750 or even .800 OPS, that'd be a giant success and a hell of a comeback. I think we'd all be happy for him.
  10. Well I think we'd all kinda tuned the Orioles out by that point. I don't remember that.
  11. I figured as much. I couldn't remember anything like that from him last year.
  12. Did he, at any point, have a stretch like this last year? It's an extremely SSS but there could be hope.
  13. Waiting for Hunter Harvey news. Good news is that now that you've found it, you know where to look in the future.
  14. Watched the condensed game on MLB.tv this morning and that Renato Nunez play is one of the more boneheaded baserunning errors I've ever seen. No doubt about it.
  15. It's what it's all about. My couch is ridiculously comfortable. 65 inch screen. Finally solved the problem of working around MLB.TVs blackout effectively, I can stream the games with no problem, it comes in perfect. Last night I fell asleep by the 4th inning. No big deal.
  16. I think Hess should be used as a 2-3 inning opener, too.
  17. MLB finds itself in a tricky situation, kinda. They need homers and big offense because they know that sells but they can't have PEDs because that's bad. So...yeah, I'd assume that the balls have been juiced for awhile now.
  18. Do they simulate their home run trots against him, too?
  19. I've been called both. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I guess.
  20. I've said it before, I'll say it again. I'd rather just watch games on a big ass flatscreen on a comfy couch instead of schlepping all the way up there. I'll go to a game or two this year but honestly, even if I lived closer I'd still only go once or twice a year. The home theatre experience is way underrated when it comes to talking about attendance issues.
  21. Didn't give up a homer yesterday, I'll take that for starters.
  22. Hope @Redskins Rickdoesn't consider this trolling, but I need to see it for a full season, including into next season before thinking anything of Bundy. We've seen him do this before, reel off a few good starts followed by some disasters. The one caveat here is the new regime, hopefully they can make a lasting change.
  23. Because they're usually playing something like basketball or football. And if there's something you can hurt on a swing or diving for a ball in the outfield, there's something he could definitely hurt while trying to tackle a running back or going across the middle to catch a pass.
  24. Yankees are still 11-10 with a ton of injuries, Judge being the latest. I wouldn't wish injury on anyone...but part of me isn't sad that this is the 2nd year in a row that Judge has been hurt. Another part of me steps back and thinks as a baseball fan in general...he's good for the game and the game is better with him in it. It sucks because he's in our division but I hope he doesn't have a career where he's more injured than not and people are left wondering what could have been. Aside from the fact that he plays for the Yankees, he seems like a good guy.
