  1. Yeah, no. I'll wait until they're in the bigs and not trying to get outs against a Mets non roster invitee. Yes, I will agree with you there.
  2. Count me out on spring training. Other than the signal that baseball season is around the corner, it's a snore fest.
  3. @Frobby, let's swing by the grocery store on the way to OPACY so I can stock up on eggs to throw at Colby Rasmus if he enters the perimeter.
  4. Well, it might be an MiLB deal but whatever. Good chance that whoever it is spends some time in Baltimore this summer so it's not like it's completely irrelevant.
  5. I don't think Mountcastle has to defend particularly well anywhere to be in the ROY running. And it's an idea we should get used to (that he's not a good defender). Alvarez won the ROY last year, no one cared about his glove (or lack of it). I wouldn't expect Mountcastle to mash like that but in the off-chance he does, there's precedent that a slugger without a glove can win the award.
  6. Looking forward to the day Luke gets to brag about a player he scouted that no one else considered who becomes an All-Star.
  7. As you stole the caramel popcorn from her and agreed to keep it a secret.
  8. I just saw this. Damn, this is awesome and well deserved. Congrats, Luke!!!!
  9. When the Astros trashcan beating scandal broke, I took the absolute silence from other teams (not players, teams) as an admission of guilt that they were doing illegal things, too.
  10. Catcher: Jeff Tackett. Used to call him "Whack-it, Tackett," which was funny because he couldn't. He had that cool flat top though. 1st Base: Kevin Millar. Not that good by the time he got here. Still liked him. 2nd Base: Billy Ripken. Used to call him "Big Lumber Bill," which was hilarious to me when I was a kid because he couldn't hit a lick. But he was a great fielder. SS: Deivi Cruz: I'm not sure why. 3rd Base: Leo Gomez. Leo Gomez, IIRC, actually led all rookies in 1991 with 14 homers. My mom had a crush on him which I thought was weird but hilarious. He was also really nice. Cleaning up my parents basement a few weeks ago, I came across about 5 different autographed Leo Gomez cards. OF: Corey Patterson. Patterson could fly and I think I still held out hope that he'd reach some of that lofty prospect status he had when he came up. He was OF: Felix Pie. I mean, c'mon OF: Luis Matos. Thought the dude was going to be great, still liked him no matter what. Some initial guys that came to mind. I think I could do another lineup later.
  11. As for me, I can't imagine him sticking the whole year if he performs like he did last year. And by saying I can't imagine it, I easily can...because he lasted the whole 2019 season. I hope Mountcastle mashes, that might help to make this happen faster.
  12. It's unfortunate because last year he had a couple of stretches where he looked like he could be turning it around. And then went right back to being terrible.
  13. Great, maybe some of their pitchers can help us.
  14. Yeah, this makes no sense. They just didn't drop a few million on Iglesias to "spell Martin." I mean, I can spell Martin just fine, as you can see. M-a-r-t-i-n. I can also spell the female version just fine, too.... M-a-r-t-i-n-a. Kinda tricky, but once you get the hang of it, it's not so bad. Jokes aside, it really doesn't make sense. I like Richie Martin, I think he can be a good backup middle infielder type. And he picked it up with the bat in the 2nd half. But Iglesias wasn't signed to back Richie Martin up, that doesn't make any sense. But can the backup spell Iglesias? I-g-l-e-s-i-a-s.
  15. I'm fine with a platoon. Would like to see if Hanser can repeat what he did last year against lefties and to see if we can coax a .725 - .750 OPS out of the right side with decent defense.
  16. Jokes aside, I'm happy we got him. A good defender at SS is helpful and fun to watch as well. Also, that guy on twitter who said we were near getting a SS, who is that? He's been 2/2 so far this offseason, IIRC. No.
  17. Ah yes, the OH. Where "What can we get for him at the deadline?" is quickly asked after every signing...especially the ones where no one is bidding aggressively for said player.
  18. Playoff tickets!!!! WAHOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!111111 . IGLESIAS!!!!!!111
  19. A World Series win. Probably would settle for 4+ postseason appearances and a .500+ winning record for the decade, though.
