  1. This team may be exciting next year.  Bryant has played really well and Brown and Robinson are getting great experience.  They also will likely get a lottery pick.

They’ll have Wall, Beal, Brown, Hachimura, and Bryant with Robinson and Bonga off the bench.  They could be competitive in the East.

Not sure what their cap/FA situation is.

Always is such a loaded term.

If you are an honest to goodness contender I can see holding onto someone like Britton since they can be such a weapon in the playoffs.  If the timing is right you have to play for today and not three years down the line.

Case in point, last year’s WS champion.  Most were saying they should have traded off Rendon, Scherzer, and others before the deadline.  That team has let their soon to be FAs play to the end of their contracts (Rendon, Zimmermann, Desmond, Harper, etc) and have been very successful.

Don’t think they could do it at the Arizona spring facilities? They’re all within a few miles of each other.

It’s not the same as the Orlando complex.  Everyone in there is tested, they live there, eat there, etc.

Arizona’s complexes are in towns with other people.  Some are an hour and 20 minutes apart.  They wouldn’t be able to have the same controls in place as the NBA.

MLB has 3 stadiums located in one area?

Can’t compare the two. Plus many more players.

I agree with this.  The NBA has done an excellent job, but the sport has a lot of built in advantages that baseball doesn’t have.  Not only do the have three courts where they can get 6 games in a day, NBA teams don’t play everyday.  So you can get by with six games a day as opposed to the 15 you need for MLB on a typical day.

People getting all worried about this but who cares?  So, some team(s) end up playing 45ish games..so what?

What they need to do is go to a 50 or 60 man roster, instead of 40.  Teams don’t want to cut a bunch of players just to field a team.  So, allow them to bring up as many as needed.  This isn’t really that difficult.

Last playoff spot comes down to two teams.  One is 24-21, the other 31-29.  Who goes?

The Blue Jays should probably just play the Nationals another three games this weekend since they both are off.

It’s tough because the Nationals are playing as if they have the weekend off.  Scherzer went longer last night than he would have if he had to stay on five days rest.  Their pitching Rainey again tonight.  Probably wouldn’t if they had games this weekend.  But competitive integrity has already been thrown out the window, so I guess it doesn’t matter.
