  1. The only names I remember for sure were Wells, Erickson, and Bedard 2x. And maybe Dennis Martinez.
  2. Was it 13? I saw Bedard was on that list multiple times as well. And ironically, none of the great pitchers from the glory years, though pitcher usage explains that. And yes, three runs or less.
  3. Did anyone see the stat posted on MASN last night? Tyler Wells gave up more than three runs for the first time since his first start on 4/27. He made 15 consecutive starts going more than four innings and giving up three runs or less. Set the franchise record. Previous was 11 by Scott Erickson I believe. Forgive me if I'm off by a little bit, but it was only on screen for a moment and I'm going off memory.
  4. This was a point I made over and over again in discussions about changing the eligibility rules to "stop the abuse." No matter how you changed the rules, there would be a way to exploit them.
  5. Yeah, but there haven't been 20,000 guys picked 1:1.
  6. Neither one of these players would have any interest in signing with us long-term, so there's really no need to contemplate the scenario. Not to be a buzz kill.
  7. I'm in no hurry to change the make up of a roster that is playing excellent baseball.
  8. How are things going on that front by the way?
  9. I think he's going to get something like 3/36. I guess we'll see.
  10. The value that Mancini provides to us during our playoff run.
  11. I never said that either. I said it is a factor to be considered in the evaluation.
  12. When did I say he has little trade value? Unless he gets injured, he's getting a contract in FA for a guaranteed 25 million. You can guarantee that.
  13. Ok. Then in that case, let me revise my prediction: There's about a 90% chance that Mancini would deliver a 3rd round draft pick to us. And about a 10% chance he'd deliver a Comp B pick. That should factor into the conversation.
  14. Sounds like he'd need to sign a contract for $55 million to get us a pick, as 25+ is only for revenue sharing payees, which is assuredly not us. That seems unlikely. But not impossible. I'd peg the odds at about 10%. BTW, are there any updates about the draft negotiations?
  15. Again, pretty sure this is not true.
  16. I think it's still in if they don't reach an agreement about the international draft by July 25th. There were several things hinging upon that, including draft compensation.
  17. Forgive me if this has been mentioned, I haven't seen it but I didn't read every page, but a factor to consider in his value is the possibility of draft pick compensation for Mancini if he walks in FA.
  18. The Markakis comparions seem too convenient.
  19. Real lack of decorum being displayed here.
