  1. As you yourself admit, YOU don't know who you would or wouldn't get rid of. Here's what I say: They might get rid of one IF, including the prospect group, and not including Frazier. And they might get rid of one OF, including the prospect group. But I'd be willing to bet 7 of the starters in Game 3 will be in the opening day roster.
  2. We'll have to see what they do, but I think Elias will be more conservative than you would be in regards to trading "veterans." Frazier and Gibson will be gone. But I don't see them trading 3-4 guys in addition to that who contributed this year. Maybe one or two.
  3. Honestly, I just want them to make the playoffs. Do that basically every year and the crapshoot will eventually work out in our favor.
  4. That would be an intentional choice if that were the case. Other than the loss of Frazier and Gibson.
  5. If a team was in need of a solid and cheap 1b or LF option would they give up a prospect in the range of Ortiz or Norby? I think yes, and another wildcard.
  6. I could definitely see them doing that with either Mayo or Holiday. You could argue they did it with Kjerstad. I think a lot of people should prepare themselves for what they're going to do with Holiday. He's not going to be up on OD. And he's not going to be up early enough to have even the most remotest of chances to be ROY next year. I've been predicting June or July. Could they hold him back until late August? I definitely wouldn't say it's an impossibility. And that will not affect the team's ability to compete next year- any more than it did this year.
  7. You asked if the team would be trying to compete in a year in which they kept minor leaguers who "could help" down for significant portion of the schedule? This year was proof positive that's exactly what they plan on doing and that, yes, it can be done. This stuff isn't hard.
  8. The problem with that exercise is it denies the fact that the Orioles are not in the position of any other team. Every other team's situation is unique. So a starting LF or 1b has different value for different clubs.
  9. Oh, so they didn't keep guys like Westburg, Kjerstad, and Hall in the minors for the majority of the season even though they "could help" and did in the playoffs? I'd be embarrassed if I said as many stupid things as you do. You'll say anything so you can hop on your Cesar Chavez soapbox and try to make yourself feel good about yourself. Sad and pathetic.
  10. They didn't contend this year? That's a stupid thing to say.
  11. Did they manage to contend this year utilizing that strategy?
  12. All it takes is a couple ABs. Kremer must hold them down offensively. A clean inning sure would be nice.
  13. I see and I don't know anything about the difference between the two. I was just referring to the fact that physically throwing a football is far less demanding on the arm than throwing a baseball because of the mechanics of it. In fact, throwing a football is part of the recovery process for a pitcher recovering from TJ, and it is done well, well in advance of a return to competitive pitching.
  14. I went with Gibson because of veteranocity. I've always thought Kremer was a bit of an emotional player. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but I could see it getting over top of him in this kind of environment. I kind of feel that was what happened to Rodriguez, who is similar to Kremer as an emotional performer. The environment in Arlington will be charged. It's a dome, and blood is in the water. It's going to be a punch in the face to our guys, who have, mostly, never played a road playoff game.
  15. LOL. I'm sure Hyde understands the definition of an elimination game.
  16. I didn't like how he was used either day. If you're going to use him, use him. He's not a LOOGY.
  17. I can see both sides of who should start Game 3, but I'd just like to point out the next time we need a long reliever our season is very likely finished.
  18. That woman lied. Clearly. Convicted by her own video. Again, why does he need to prove he is innocent? Especially when his own accusers are clearly lying?
  19. Great catch. This is why you're a great poster.
  20. When convicting men and stripping them of their livelihoods? Abso- freaking- lutely!
