  1. What is often misplaced this time of year when someone is below the "Mendoza Line" is how a couple of 4 for 5 and a walk raises the slash line considerably. Because of one game Flash II went from : .149/.231/.277/.507 to .212/.293/.385/.678
  2. And I would add that most have not accumulated 50 PA's yet. SSS Slash Line for Norfolk thru 10 games.197.269.307.576
  3. Very few One Year $800,000 contracts are worthless. Basically a throw away deal.
  4. Players with more than three years of Major League service time or who have been previously outrighted may reject the outright assignment in favor of free agency. Chris Davis has 9.061 service time AND is a SCOTT BORIS client.
  5. Yankee stadium has less ground to cover in RF than LF
  6. I went with 66 to 70 because I am an OPTIMIST. Just not OPTIMISTIC ENOUGH to go above that.
  7. Another Chris Davis Thread, REALLY. Do we need a new one every week????
  8. This is where many seem to get lost. Just like actresses and actors, ballplayers need to make there way into the "STAR ROLE".
  9. SSS, Service Time, Defensive Metrics, etc...

  12. I voted under for the reason that there will be games he does not qualify for the win because he was pulled early because of pitch count.
  13. Data collected on these players and what is needed to correct some flaws is given to the players through the proper channels. What the player does with it or is receptive to will be telling as to who is kept and who is released. In the end, the players need to believe in "THE PROCESS" if they do not then "THE PROCESS" will get rid of them.
  14. In the Ninth inning, with two runners on base, both Adam Jones and Nick Markakis have ONE Career Homerun. Nicks was a walk off, Adams was not. Nicks was this year, Adams was in 2014
  15. It's the Red Soxs and Dodgers, I could care less. So to me ,your failure was the first 16 innings also.
  16. Nick Markakis Innings 7 thru 9 280/354/408/762 Adam Jones Innings 7 thru 9 258/276/405/701 I would take Nick Markakis
  17. Its the Dodgers and Red Soxs, just get it over with.
  18. I wonder if the "Curbing" of Manny is what helped along the "Losing Of The Club House" that many said happened to Buck.
  19. The 2021 and 2022 Arbitration scenario cares as to when Hays and Diaz make an appearance on the Twenty-Five Man Roster. Now if you hold them back until May 15th or June 01 no arguments. Why start the clock too early???
  20. This may help. http://athletewealth.com/howmlbsigningbonusistaxed/
  21. I do not have the expertise to know how the Income Tax structure within Maryland works. I do know that in Pennsylvania and New York the Income Tax paid in one state off sets what you owe in the other. NY is slightly higher than Pa so if you live in Pa, work in NY, your tax in pa off-sets what is owed in NY. You just owe NY the difference.
  22. Is the signing bonus INCOME??? There in lies the answer.
  23. This discussion of the merits of each city seems to also not point out a difference in the INCOME TAX structure of the differing states. One would need to make more $$$ to off-set the higher tax from one state to the other. Maryland would have a 5.75% Income Tax as opposed to a ZERO Income Tax in Florida. For every $1,000 in salary in Florida , Maryland would have to pay another $60.00 to off-set the income Tax. I also would need to add the Baltimore City Income Tax of $32.00 per $1,000. That is a loss of near 10% if signing with the Orioles. I also believe that the older brother (Victor Victor) would like to be on the Forty Man Roster when signed so as to assure his chances to be on the Twenty-Five permanently or a free agent sooner. If within three years he uses up his Options, all the better.
  24. I vote that if you are paying him, play him. For no other reason than to keep him around the length of the contract so when the Orioles become a faint hope in 2021 his play/contract is a constant reminder of "WHY YOU NEVER GIVE MORE THAN A THREE YEAR CONTRACT TO ANYONE."
  25. Per Baseball-Reference: 1955 Baltimore Orioles AL 54 Batters/Players 2013 Baltimore Orioles AL East 52 Batters/Players 2012 Baltimore Orioles AL East 52 Batters/Players 1951 St. Louis Browns AL 52 Batters/Players
