Yeah I don't care about the dome so much.........my incredulity is more from the standpoint of: When the common consensus seems to be that no one comes to see the Rays at the Trop because of traffic concerns and its poor location relative to where people actually are.............. why are they spending $1.2B to put a new stadium in that same location?

So they are going to build another domed stadium in St. Pete just like the Trop and hope that people choose to come there instead because...........why exactly?

Prices vary from game to game. Depending on the opponent, what day of the week, etc. Everything is digital now through the Ballpark app yeah.

The smallest package you can get for fixed games is for 13 individual games. However they also have something now called "Flex" memberships. Where you just put a big deposit down up front (packages start at $600) and then you can use that money throughout the season to buy tickets. If you don't spend it all though you would lose it.

This actually sounds pretty intriguing to me. Do I dare put down a deposit for 2024 knowing the Orioles don't officially have a home ballpark to play in right now? lol Trying to imagine how that conversation might go........

Agree that it makes absolutely zero sense for him to be playing catch etc unless the front office things there is a chance he can contribute here in Sept / Oct. Personally, I think those odds must be pretty low. But I am not a doctor. Just hope they don't do anything to put him at further risk if there is almost no chance at him being his old self again this year.

Hicks has said in interviews he expects to be ready for the Angels series (starting Monday). Either Cowser or McKenna will go down then.

To counter my point....... Some cool things in his favor: -still .900 OPS despite the aforementioned slump at AAA. -looks like he doesn't have pronounced splits at all in terms of LHP/RHP despite being a left handed bat himself. I feel like that is pretty rare. I think he is a logical replacement for Santander for 2024. Curious if others might agree or not.

It doesn't help. Also they are only allowed to add one hitter in September right? Does he fit the roster more now vs someone like Ortiz or Cowser?

Interesting. I JUST saw him at Aberdeen on Sunday. He wasn't particularly impressive at all. Lot of hard contact and walks. 127 K's over 82.2 innings I guess is intriguing though.

Can someone explain to me how money works? Like, hypothetically if a team can afford a $150M payroll in 2016. What would change about the nature of money seven years later so that the team can no longer afford that payroll? Looks like we were a top 10 payroll that year.

Went to the Ironbirds game today. Looks like Young was just promoted to high A.....but to my eye he was the most impressive looking player today. Consistently made good contact....stole a base. I know his Delmarva numbers arent amazing so ill be interested to see if he keeps it up.

I think it's possible that the 2025 roster will have at least 2 players on it that we didn't draft and develop ourselves.

Gunnar Henderson call up day was Aug 31 last year. I think we might see some new faces on or around that day in 2023.

Something I struggle with sometimes is do I want the Yankees to lose every game for the remainder of the season? This is better for them long term in terms of draft position...... or do I want them to win exactly 80 games and miss the playoffs every year? I think in terms of what is worst for them long term i think it might be going 80-82 every year.

Buck used to say that the jump from AAA to the majors was the hardest jump in any level of professional sports. I think it's very common to see guys struggle for an adjustment period, even the great ones. Westburg's numbers aren't too bad.

I really thought Ortiz would be dealt by the deadline. I really don't understand what we're doing here. He has 384 total PA at the AAA level now with a combined .983 OPS. That is enough.
