  1. Maybe. I think "lunacy" is a tad overstated. It wouldn't surprise me if Elias keeps everyone for sure. Do you think Kjerstad will be in the lineup in October of 2024? If so how do you expect them to make room for him?
  2. Thinking about starting a thread about why O'Hearn has to stay. Santander might be the one whose spot is vulnerable when Kjerstad is ready. Not because of his slow start per se.........but more because of it being his walk year.
  3. Was just about to start a thread on this. Glad someone else did so I can just piggy back off of it heh. Found a fascinating tool at ESPN: 2024 MLB Baseball Relative Power Index - Major League Baseball - ESPN Big takeaways: -Orioles have had the hardest schedule in all of MLB so far -if you use their formula for RPI (relative power index) that attempts to adjust W/L record to account for opponent's Strength of Schedule...........we are the 2nd best team in MLB. None of that guarantees anything of course for the future. But it should be encouraging for O's fans. It is for me.

    DL Hall 2024

It's been clear to me for awhile that DL Hall's best opportunity to shine and thrive in MLB is as a high leverage reliever. Seems like he really doesn't want to go that route......and that's a shame. I think Elias handled this situation pretty flawlessly.
  5. We need to update the title of this thread. May happen a few more times as well.
  6. Taking Holliday's spot on the Norfolk roster? just making a guess
  7. I would certainly never imply that my dream is that Irvin spends all of 2024 in the rotation. He is definitely the weakest link right now. But it's also true that the ump made it harder for him last night than necessary.
  8. One way he was unlucky last night was he struck out a guy (should have been the 3rd out of the inning) but the umpire blew the call and awarded a BB. Next guy hit a 2 run homer.
  9. Actually.... Cal Sr returned to the team from 1989 to 1992 as the 3rd base coach. I assume he wore #7 then? So he would still be the last one.
  10. Possibly the biggest Orioles news of the day!
  11. Sprinklers are back?!!!??
  12. Career .885 OPS vs RHP. (580 PA) Career .582 OPS vs LHP. (213 PA) That is a pretty striking differential. Not saying he can't improve against lefties eventually and I'm NOT saying he should be a platoon player. But idk...........maybe............just maybe.............. he shouldn't be leading off vs LHP right now?
  13. Seems pretty clear it will be Irvin. Assuming no one else gets hurt.
  14. .635 team OPS vs LHP this year so far coming into today. 150 points worse than our numbers vs RHP.
  15. Man what is it with us vs LHP. So frustrating.
  16. They are 6-1. They beat up on the Nats and the Marlins. Not sure how meaningful that sample size is. Marlins are the last team in MLB with not a single win. Jared Jones might be a problem (their SP that we are facing this afternoon). He had 10 K's in his first start against the aforementioned pitiful Marlins. Overall PIT is 6th in MLB in team OPS. 14th in team ERA.
  17. 8th actually. Wow. I had no idea he had moved around so much. Future Immaculate Grid legend.
  18. Tied for 2nd on the team in HR! Not sure exactly what is going on here.
  19. Why can't Cowser play RF? I guess they are afraid to bench one of Santander or Mounty / O'Hearn?
  20. Gonna predict that Kimbrel appears in his first game tonight.
  21. Actually....................... Frazier is about to enter our building. Currently hitting .333 with Kansas City.
  22. Once the Orioles decide to set their 26 man roster I'll be ready to make a lineup prediction.
  23. Hope to see you guys in Baltimore today. That's where I will be.
  24. Storm seems to be heading north and east of us. Makes sense.
