  1. 2021 Galvis: .265 / .315 / .470 Iglesias: .265 / .279 / .343 We criticize Elias pretty darn quickly for the Zach Pop type mistakes.....we should give him credit for the hits as well.
  2. The Yankees are back up to .500 at the moment. On our schedule so far we have only played 5 games now (out of 28) against a team with a losing record. 3 @ Texas and 2 @ Miami. We were 3-2 in those. Our next 4 series are also all against teams at .500 or better. Next opponent we have that has a losing record (as of today) is Tampa in the middle of May.
  3. What is he no longer eligible for as a retired HOF'er?
  4. One of the more amusing what-ifs i roll around sometimes is what if we extended Nelson Cruz for 7 / $161M and let Davis go instead. If i had a time machine that would be the.......4th thing i do.
  5. Is Bundy still a Cy Young contender since we moved him?
  6. If only there was a place pitchers could go where they didn't have to pitch multiple innings per game.
  7. He was on pace to be a positive player (in Wins Above Replacement) in 2020 and 2019. So far he is negative in 2021. That is a change. He was roughly a 1/2 WAR player in 2019 over a good chunk of the season.....which sure.....is not great. But if you project his 2021 start to that same number of games...... he is on pace for -1.2 WAR. Again, that is a change and I think significant.
  8. 2019 OPS: .682 2020 OPS: .713 2021 so far: .495 (.653 for his career) I question if he is performing on par with your pre-season expectations.
  9. Wasn't Jon Miller fired for not "bleeding orange and black." ?? This seems to be of a similar vein. Wagner criticizing the O's in a way that any normal frustrated fan would. That's why we are so loyal to long time MASN staff like Jim Hunter......Tom Davis...............Rick Dempsey..... I mean wait.
  10. Kind of funny that the A's have won 11 in a row....are tied with Boston for the best record in the AL...…..…….and they have a negative run differential. I'm not saying they are fraudulent division leaders...….I'm just asking questions.
  11. Don't throw it away.........don't throw it AT ALL!!!
  12. I can't take credit for that but I'm hoping to help move it along to trending more.
  13. Look who became a bright-eyed and bushy-tailed optimist after all! It's very heart-warming, thanks. I guess you didn't say how 'likely' you think this scenario is though. Personally I'm expecting to see this guy in Baltimore some time in 2023. Would be thrilled if I'm wrong and your proposal here comes true.
  14. Lopez is currently lined up for Friday. Then I suppose it's back to John MEANS BUSINESS.
  15. They have a RHP tonight (Neidert). And they are using a Lefty tomorrow afternoon (Rogers).
  16. Hoping we can at least split this series. We appear to have caught a bit of good fortune. As we are getting one of our best hitters back into our lineup, the Marlins are losing one of theirs. Marte has a fractured rib and will miss a week or so. He was hitting .316/.420/.491 so far in April. Let's go O's. We appear to match up fairly well in terms of runs scored vs runs allowed....although they have an advantage. Obviously we play different schedules.
  17. @DrungoHazewood I thought we weren't supposed to believe what happens in April? Someone go and tell Bruce quickly before he makes a huge mistake and forfeits...… one million dollars? Eh, whatever.
  18. Technically tied with TX for 29th but i will allow it.
  19. Also Boston has the 3rd highest OPS in MLB. The rest of our division ranks NO HIGHER than 21st! Kind of crazy.
  20. I have some good news and some bad news. See if you can spot it. Yes we could use a better offense. Along with every other facet of an MLB team. Worst 5 MLB team offenses by OPS: 26. Brewers - .650 27. Tigers - .647 28. Orioles - .643 29. Rangers - .642 30. Yankees - .642 Also kinda noteworthy that the Rockies are 25th despite playing a bunch of games up in the mountains.
  21. 1. 4-5 years. See Houston. We already have gone from having a terrible farm system to a top 5.....so the progress is clearly being made. 2. Houston. Minus the cheating of course. 3. No. But it is what it is. I think most rational actors agree there should be a salary "cap" and "floor" in MLB. Hopefully I am able to live to see the day.
  22. Well Mr. Corn, do I have someone for you to meet! Prepare to be excited. This guy is currently #4 !!! on the team in WAR. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/p/plutkad01.shtml
  23. Somewhere between Gary Thorne and Jim Hunter should be fine. I miss Thorne too.
