I was at this game. He looked very dominant through the first 2 innings of work. Little surprised they had him go all 4 to close out the game. 6th: K, K, pop out to catcher 7th: ground ball single, K, K, fly out 8th: Double, K, groundout, K 9th: Double, single, single, K, HBP. Mound visit. Ground out, single, ground out. 4 K's through the first 6 batters is pretty sensational.

Absolutely walloped a HR off the roof of the shed in Left last night. Had a defensive miscue in the first but other than that he had a fantastic game.

He hit a triple to dead center last night that just missed getting out. Great hustle all the way around and he was real fired up after sliding into 3rd.....was great to see.

Pretty awesome finish to the game here. Really feels like Sunday may be Adley's last game in a Baysox uniform.

One hard double he let up to dead center. But he got out of trouble with some weak contact and a K. Hitting 93 but the off speed stuff seems to be most effective.

Rom really dominant through 2 so far. Lot of K's. Nothing has left the infield yet. Early Westburg error didnt matter when the batter was tagged trying to turn one base into three.

I'll be at the Ironbirds game tonight. Looks like it will be Rom against the Yankees affiliate. Should be a good test for him. Will report back anything I notice.

I don't think anyone is arguing that point, though. I'm sure we are all excited to have GrayRod in our system. Having 2 or 3 high upside prospects across 4 teams though doesn't seem to mean that your whole system is "stacked" with pitching talent imho. Even with GrayRod having an amazing 2.04 ERA so far at Bowie........that isn't enough to boost the Baysox to even be league average.

Yeah I noticed the comment too about the O's minor league system being "stacked" with pitching. Made me raise an eyebrow. Norfolk is ranked 14th / 20th in team ERA. Bowie is 8th / 12th. Aberdeen is 9th / 12th. Delmarva is 2nd / 12th. All of these are just in their respective leagues. It would take a little bit more effort to rank them against all the teams, but i think the trend is evident enough. Maybe they were just specifically praising the Shorebirds? They cited Gray Rod, Hall, etc as examples though.

So the extra context that you are referring to (which i agree is absolutely important especially at the lower levels) actually makes the 2019 and 2021 Delmarva teams very comparable after all? Is that what you meant?

The numbers have fallen off some since July 4th. But overall there definitely has been some progress. 2021 comparison -Norfolk 24-38 (.387) -Bowie 37-27 (.578) -Aberdeen 36-30 (.545) -Delmarva 39-25 (.609) Some affiliates are slightly better, some are slightly worse. Aberdeen is infinitely better obviously, and yeah hopefully in 2022 we see even more improvement.

You're saying a 1.000 OPS in the minors doesn't guarantee that same production in the majors? All this time I thought prospect development and projection was based on simple copy/paste. Sorry guys. I need a minute.....................

I'll likely tune in just to keep encouraging MLB to stop broadcasting exclusively on cable. For O's games anyway. But man the O's are basically unwatchable so i know i won't last the full game.
