  1. What is the longest losing streak we have suffered in the Elias / Hyde era?
  2. Looks like he is going every 5 or 6 days. His last start was 5/21 so that means he should be pitching tonight or tomorrow. Sorry it doesn't appear that he will be pitching this weekend.
  3. *clears throat* I don't expect this will be the last time we see this maneuver with Hays this year.
  4. You can recall someone like McKenna who has been down for less than 10 days if he is replacing an injured player. Hays has his monthly hamstring injury now, why not just get out in front of it and IL him? At worst it costs us what........maybe 4 or 5 games that he could have been back for sooner? Not sure we should care.
  5. Hyde has said things to the effect of they are hoping to have him back on the MLB team by June 1st. I think that is the target.

Are you happy that we rank so highly at Hi-A and AA as well?

So on the one hand, we have this new GM Mike Elias. He CLAIMED he wanted to come in, and set up this fancy schmancy "talent pipeline" that flowed from the lowest levels of the organization to the top with good players. And we have evidence that this pipeline is now approaching the AA level. We have a top 10 farm system in MLB at least....if not top 5 (Headlined by Adley Rutschman, Orioles farm system ranked fifth best in MLB | RSN (nbcsports.com)). On the other hand, man he really screwed up that Zach Pop thing. ? What do you guys think, maybe we give him one more shot before we see if Pat Gillick is still available? ?
  8. Maybe that's why they called up Bradish.

    Kyle Bradish 2021

That's awesome news. Could be a call up this year if he keeps dominating.
  10. Thanks for the detailed write-up Tony. I feel pretty frustrated as well, especially after the last two weeks or so. I agree with maybe 80% of what you said above. Can we send Mountcastle back down at this point? Curious if he has any options left.
  11. .231 / .412 / .442 through 68 PA so far. Fantastic BB to K ratio of 14 to 18. Things seem to be tentatively pointing up. Hopefully between 100 to 150 PA we are ready to agree he belongs in AAA.

    I was thinking Gray Rod.
  13. 3 for 4 with a double and a HR. Great call sir.
  14. There are other multiple studies available, but yeah, it appears that most research is being done in youth baseball. I don’t know if that is for cost related reasons or MLBPA issues or whatever. I will link them later if you guys are open to accepting them. If they will be dismissed out of hand for age reasons then I will save my time. I just don’t see how one can think that mechanics of pitching would impact high school or middle school arms one way, but adult arms in some other way. This appears to be the best data currently available and it seems pretty conclusive. And again.....OBVIOUSLY the more stress you put on a shoulder or elbow or whatever the more likely it is to be injured. I don’t even comprehend what the opposing argument would be.
  15. Also, I don’t disagree that many times teams are over cautious with this kinda thing.
  16. Yeah they found a clear link between pitch counts and negative outcomes. It makes perfect sense if you think about it and you understand that overhand pitching (especially at the force of an MLB player) is an unnatural human motion. Interestingly enough, the physics of the interactions between muscles, joints, ligaments, etc work very similarly in 17-18 year olds as 22-29 year olds. I would even hypothesize that it’s the same in older individuals.
  17. https://wexnermedical.osu.edu/mediaroom/pressreleaselisting/baseballpitching Looking forward to you no longer hounding people for data on this since you have access now.
  18. Condolences to Encarnacion. Best of luck in the MLB Draft League. ?
  19. My main takeaway is that Frobby is convinced that Maikel Franco is about to take off. Glass half full.
  20. I just can't stand St. Patrick's Day. I know it's not today. Just thought like mentioning it. Don't get me started on Leap Days.
  21. Elias made a mistake here. I think it's pretty universally recognized now. Looking forward to the next bump in another 2-3 weeks when people feel the need to bring it up again. I'm not yet aware of a GM who is perfect. Hopefully we get one someday. In the meantime, I think we still have one of the best ones in the game who has made demonstrable progress in the minor leagues / scouting / analytics areas. We are already seeing some dividends at the major league level...........those dividends should only increase in 22 and 23.
  22. If people have historically low batting averages....then that means we should be seeing a lot more K's and an increase in dominant pitching performances. Wait a second. Seriously though. The modern record for no hitters in one season is 7. Curious drungo if you think that record will get broken this year? Or completely shattered?
  23. Camden Yards opened in 1992 right? I see what you did there.
  24. From Roch today: Shortstop Freddy Galvis is out of the lineup after playing in four consecutive games following his recovery from a sore left adductor/groin. He’s gone 4-for-13 with a home run. “A day off before an off-day,” Hyde said. “Gets a couple days to rest up a little bit.”
