  1. Tampa? As I said earlier the fear should be Pirates 2.0. Tampa 2.0 is looking like a best case scenario.
  2. I'm a firm believer in the ability of players to learn while playing in the majors. I'm not sold that shagging flies in Bowie helped him more than shagging flies at OPACY would have, in fact I'd argue the opposite, that having defensive reps in ML parks would have been to his advantage.
  3. You have spending for the sake of spending and you have trading Iglesias to save a few million when they don't appear to have a replacement. I don't think anyone would consider retaining Iglesias spending to spend.
  4. Did you think keeping Mountcastle down as long as they did made sense?
  5. I think that at this point in the process the emphasis should move away from intentionally weakening the ML roster in order to lower payroll and improve draft position into attempting to field a competitive team. If you need top 5 draft picks for 4+ years running you are doing something wrong.
  6. I find the /ignore feature to be very useful. I'm sure the folks that have used it to block my own posts from their viewing would agree.
  7. If you have been making ~50M a year in profits for X number of years a year with even 60M in losses shouldn't be that hard to weather.
  8. At this point in the original Astros' style rebuild were the Astros still tearing down? Astro payroll in 2013- 22M Astro payroll in 2014- 44M.
  9. Under the previous ownership sure. Everything they have done recently looks to be winning with a tight budget. You see they are talking to the White Sox amount Snell? I'm thinking more the Pirate's model.
  10. To me it is starting to look like the plan isn't prioritizing winning. Not every ownership group has winning as their primary goal.
  11. I'm not waiting for them to do it. I'm just assuming they are lying.
  12. Right, I won't. Why should I? What have they done to earn that? MLB owners have a long history of crying poor.
  13. Unless they open the books I'm not giving them any benefit of the doubt.
  14. I'm sure that Grayson and Hall will earn a call up by 2023.
  15. Wow their minor league pitching must really be bad.
  16. Naw, he's older now so probably not that high. He didn't pitch in games in 2019 and I have no idea if he was part of the Angel's extended camp but I highly doubt it. Why should anyone be higher on him now then they were on draft day?
  17. But he's a former fifth round pick, I know how much draft pedigree means to you.
  18. I'll agree that they probably won't lose 100, heck they might not even play 100.
  19. Who knows, maybe you will get lucky and they will need you to play a game at short!
