  1. Yea that Boog Powell was a wizard with the glove. ?
  2. Because only gold glove level defense is acceptable.
  3. I think that says more about your definition of succeed than it does anything about Mountcastle.
  4. Dan Straily was second in the league in ERA with a 2.5 over 194 2/3 innings.
  5. Would you spend 12M for a DL Hall or Ryan Mountcastle? Tying the value of the pick to the draft allotment tied to the pick is pretty dubious. If teams valued them so little why is having a qualifying offer such a detriment for free agents? The Braves spent roughly 3M for the #76 pick ( $838,900 slot allotment).
  6. This has been discussed before, it isn't just the draft pick it is also the additional pool allocation. As for if the #18 pick is worth 12M? I guess it would depend on the situation. I can see it being worth it for some teams.
  7. March should be early enough to book your flight and hotel.
  8. If I'm the O's and Mancini is on the team and healthy enough to play, I'm putting him at DH a lot of the time to help him conserve his strength.
  9. Very few teams in the National League have a full time DH.
  10. If no one is going to pay him 2+ million than he isn't worth 2+ million.
  11. Were they a priority when it came to testing earlier this year?
  12. I don't think their is much of a connection between drafting Kjerstad and claiming Shaw.
  13. Obviously this opens the door to the O's releasing Davis. Why pay him to put up a 30 OPS+ when you can get Shaw to do it for the league minimum.
  14. You wouldn't. Not unless it was ownership driven.
  15. If he takes Adderall, for which he doesn't have a TUE, he could be suspended.
  16. Or guys with his skill set have a history of steep and sudden decline.
  17. I don't think this is correct. The agreement only banned new players from using smokeless tabacco. Now it is true that at least half the stadiums ban it.
  18. The substance was banned but Davis had a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) for it. He lost the TUE and continued use. When he received a new TUE it was for a different, but related, drug.
