  1. What about sit on the bench? You think ownership is directing Hyde to start Davis? If so the sons aren't any different than the old man was.
  2. Every highly successful at bat ends with a dong.
  3. I haven't. Ownership might not even be interested.
  4. I was thinking Korea but then I though...you know Jones isn't exactly killing it in Japan, Korea is probably too difficult a league for Davis to excel in at this point.
  5. He's had a lot more time in the outfield than Wilkerson did when they threw him out there in Center.
  6. Sure is. To see if it gets him to quit. You can also look at it as giving the team the best chance to win since Davis is at -.9 rWAR in just 45 at bats. He's the worst option. This is professional baseball, not little league, everyone doesn't get a chance to play.
  7. I'm talking don't let him in a game style benching, not sit him some benching.
  8. As I said earlier, I'd never put him in a game, see if that has more of an impact on him than infrequent playing has.
  9. They don't need to justify it. Everyone will know why he's there. Also pretty decent chance the rosters will be oversized next year. I'd want some money back, wouldn't have to be a huge amount but some savings beyond the value of time.
  10. I just don't think Hyde has it in him to flat out bench Davis.
  11. If I'm the O's I say no to that deal and let him know he's never getting into another game. I'd tell him I'd forfeit first.
  12. He was benched in June of 2018. Let's see how long this lasts and how complete a benching it is before we say it's unprecedented.
  13. His role should be playing in AAA waiting for someone to get injured.
  14. He had 53 at bats in Sept/Oct 2018. He had 30 at bats in Sept/Oct 2019. He is still getting into games. I'm not seeing a lot different than what we have seen before.
  15. I don't know, I've been hearing a lot about how much time it takes to learn how to play left field. It seems pretty complicated.
  16. What is the harm in having players come up and try out at the ML level? The 40 has chaff that can be cut for him. No offense to the kids out there playing well but he's not going to hurt the team's playoff chances. One of the benefits, historically, to being bad is the chance to bring these guys up and see what they can do. The data you can get from watching him in the majors has to be superior to what you can get playing scrimmages against the same competition for months.
  17. Eh I said it all last year.
  18. You think we got a better option just hanging around Bowie?
  19. Worried about Scott throwing a wp with a runner on second?
  20. Was a three run game, get in base.
  21. It was pretty remarkable the support Tatis received. Even HoF guys chimed in.
