  1. I read that the Cubs offer wasn't the biggest deal. He left money on the table.
  2. No way Elias is giving up enough to get two established players.
  3. Judge is shockingly adriot out there is center for a behemoth.
  4. How often do I hear folks lauding Delmon Young around here? I enjoyed the 2012 and 2014 playoffs more than the 2023 playoffs.
  5. I think they were expecting at least 250 pages by now.
  6. The good old days I remember include winning a playoff game.
  7. That's the thing. Guys like Hicks are normally available. Maybe they aren't sitting there on the waiver wire but you can toss a 17 year old Dominican at a team and get one. It's hit or miss how well they happen to perform but 2024 Hicks isn't a lock. He's pretty much the definition of fungible.
  8. When Mullins got hurt they pulled Aaron Hicks off the scrap heap and didn't lose a step.
  9. Pretty good chance Flaherty will be on the market again!
  10. As a plus member you have the ability to edit it. I just checked with a thread I created the other day.
  11. And it makes cool plays like Machado made impossible. We have an infielder with the ability to make amazing plays as a sort of defensive rover and now it's gone so an O'Hearn type can pull a few more singles into right field because he doesn't have the ability to learn to hit the ball the other way.
  12. Sure it is. Not rewarding them significantly but yea, it's rewarding guys that can't adapt.
  13. BABIP Career-288 June- 370 July- 368 August- 327 Sept/Oct- 313 I don't think he was getting unlucky.
  14. Rewarding one dimensional players. Eliminating on the field innovation. Getting rid of really cool plays like this: I'll take watching 50 Chris Davis hitting into the shift if it means I get one of those.
  15. You can lean however you with but I don't think evidence supports much of anything. Obviously 2023 was extreme and more of that would validate your position.
  16. Haven't seen anything but I'm sure something will be out soon. I wasn't expecting the result to be worth the cost.
  17. In 2022 his OPS was higher versus RHP than LHP. In 2021 his OPS was higher versus LHP than RHP. in 2020 his OPS was higher versus RHP than LHP. If his struggles against RHP continue into this season you think about it. I don't think this is "that point". Guys have one year surges and struggles every year.
  18. Did the league see a big change overall due to the elimination of the shift? Not really. I don't think that was the cause of his resurgence.
  19. No. Why do you think he should only be used in a platoon? What do you mean by "at this point"?
  20. One of my first musical purchases.
  21. I guess the name Nashville O was already taken.
  22. No. A contender should make a bolder move.
  23. My goal for the team in 2024 isn't limited to the ALE pennant.
  24. I don't agree that an off-season in which little has been done to improve the team for next season is a best case scenario. (I don't think Kimbrel is a ride him in the playoffs reliever at this point)
