    i think Gibson giving the team over 190 innings was pretty significant. I'd like to think the younger guys can step up and replace it, but I'd rather just replace it and have the younger guys step up as well.

    He's got one season with more than 150.2 IP. If he hits 150 that still leaves the bullpen with a 40 inning gap from what Gibson gave them.

    Gunnar had more bWAR, Adley had more fWAR. I think it's a reasonable take that you go with the Catcher. Don't let your internal bias taint your view of the opinion of others.

    I don't think most of the folks are factoring in his older starting age and the generally shorter career length of catchers. I think they are just going with whom they think is the best player.

    We won't know until this plays out. I'm sure he's going to have to come down at least a bit, but I don't think an ultimatum is going to work.

    At least Gibson pitched over 190 innings. Paxton is 35 and has only pitched over 151 innings once.

    That's actually what I've expected all along. The numbers I saw years ago didn't seen to match a bleeding edge set up.
