    Sure would be nice, at this point in the supposed rebuild, to have one guy on the ML roster that we could look at and say, That is an above average ML ballplayer, and not be lying to ourselves.

    I agree, which is why I don't think .500 is likely in 2022. At this point I'm just hoping the official line isn't "We are still accumulating talent and winning isn't a priority this season."

    I think FA acquisitions next year will be in line with what Elias has done to date in the market.

    I don't see them adding significant payroll in 2022.

    I don't see 500 as being possible in 2022 unless Elias really ramps up the rate of promotion.

    It is bad. I also can't tell if Elias actually wants to delay this long or if he is under payroll constraints that go well beyond slash payroll while rebuilding.

    You should be encouraging him, he is actually asking for a larger sample size before reaching a conclusion about a player. This is progress.

    It's super early but it seems to me the team isn't playing with the same intensity they did last year. It's probably observer error but I'll throw it out there.

    I'll be shocked if they finish any month at .500 aside from the three games in October.
