  1. Time to go see what the Red Sox fans are saying on the forums. ?
  2. What? The chicken is getting cold and the beer is getting warm.
  3. I don't recall where I read it but I did read it.
  4. So this is the Red Sox team that is supposed to finish ahead of the Rays in the East? I don't see it. Glad to see the O's teeing off, maybe we'll get a laugher?
  5. You saw the post in which I was predicting his only contribution on offensive will be by HBP? Does that seem overly serious to you? I just like taking shots at Severino's defense, because I think it is more lack of effort than lack of ability.
  6. Passed ball, wild throw to second. Severino didn't exactly set a high bar.
  7. Looking forward to his 0-3, 2K, 1 HBP performance.
  8. You know me, I figure they (teams and players) pretty much all cheat whenever they think they can get away with it. That's why steroids and the Astro scandal don't bother me. I just thought it was amusing how seriously pitchers are taking the warning. I'm not sure about Kimbrel getting into the HoF tho.
  9. I didn't say third place finish. I figure a couple of local writers will give him a vote.
  10. Some third place finish votes for Cy Young?
  11. Smart move not updating to ME.
  12. There is always another work around.
  13. I like how he singles out Britton.
  14. He would be an extreme case with something approaching a unique pitch.
  15. We know that pitchers, as a general rule, can't control babip. I'm not sure what we saw was a repeatable skill. Would be nice if it was.
  16. I haven't seen that much data concerning pitchers being able to consistently impact launch angle or exit velocity.
  17. Split the difference and go Amtrak?
  18. Sadly that sort of thing isn't generally repeatable.
  19. Eh. That showdown in Toronto was a bigger deal to me than a WC game. Win the division or go home...real stakes.
  20. I know. I was a fan for both runs. As nifty as 2012 was it didn't have the magic of the 1989 season. The 2011 team was a bit of a disappointment, folks expected a more competitive team after the strong finish in 2010. The 1989 team was coming off of 0-21 and it was just completely out of nowhere.
  21. I think we should start with the 2012 comparison and work our way up to the 1989 comparison.
