It disrupts the defense! Pitcher gets all worried about and next thing you know he grooves a fastball! You can't measure the impact a running game has on a defense with your fancy stats!
What Pirate teams are you talking about?
What Padres teams are you talking about?
Was it the 2019 Padres team that signed Machado a year early and decided against gaming Tatis' service time?
He strikes out too much!
What kind of batting average is that? I could hit 205! All these kids do today is swing for the fences. Back in my day they hit home runs and singles, take what the pitcher gives you.
I don't think Dan did either. Now if he had been allowed to trade Machado earlier I'd think you'd have a good point.
A few months of Machado, a Britton coming off of injury and Gausman with O'Day's contract attached are not super premium chips.
Sorry I was grouping on base average and slugging with them. I don't think using raw stats to determine if someone in the minors is ready for promotion is sensible.
As for how long we have to wait...I think he will be rookie eligible in 2022.
Bundy was a useful piece. I also wouldn't group Givens with Cobb.
I don't fault the job Dan did in the trades, I'm sure he was directed to, for instance, dump O'Day's contract instead of getting more highly regarded players.
You need me to send you some foot shots? Is that a thing for you? You mention my choice of footwear often enough that I'm starting to think it is.
It's OK, I don't judge.
