  1. I'm sure the O's touted him highly when they traded for him.
  2. I'd rather see Sisco than Severino. Severino strikes me as lazy (my opinion don't @me). That to me is a greater crime than a lack of talent.
  3. Are you suggesting Cumberland is better behind the plate?
  4. It disrupts the defense! Pitcher gets all worried about and next thing you know he grooves a fastball! You can't measure the impact a running game has on a defense with your fancy stats!
  5. Why harp on Sisco instead of Severino? At least Sisco shares our pain with every HBP he takes for the team.
  6. I think Peter did want to bring a title to Baltimore. I don't think he was interested in doing it six years down the line.
  7. What Pirate teams are you talking about? What Padres teams are you talking about? Was it the 2019 Padres team that signed Machado a year early and decided against gaming Tatis' service time?
  8. He strikes out too much! What kind of batting average is that? I could hit 205! All these kids do today is swing for the fences. Back in my day they hit home runs and singles, take what the pitcher gives you.
  9. I don't think Dan did either. Now if he had been allowed to trade Machado earlier I'd think you'd have a good point. A few months of Machado, a Britton coming off of injury and Gausman with O'Day's contract attached are not super premium chips.
  10. Sorry I was grouping on base average and slugging with them. I don't think using raw stats to determine if someone in the minors is ready for promotion is sensible. As for how long we have to wait...I think he will be rookie eligible in 2022.
  11. I think it is foolish to get caught up in the raw counting stats when it comes to prospects.
  12. I don't buy for a second that they are being completely hands off.
  13. Yea, it kinda is. Different regimes and all. Who cares if they couldn't develop guys ten years ago under Andy.
  14. I think that if Davis hadn't signed the overall arc of the team would be pretty similar.
  15. Bundy was a useful piece. I also wouldn't group Givens with Cobb. I don't fault the job Dan did in the trades, I'm sure he was directed to, for instance, dump O'Day's contract instead of getting more highly regarded players.
  16. Low batting average, tons of strikeouts. I'm not sure the over 80 crowd would be big on that.
  17. But...but...but...Elias is all about earning your promotions.
  18. With Davis injured the O's are in need of the caliber of player that can managed -.7 rWAR in just 138 at bats. Those guys aren't easy to find.
  19. You need me to send you some foot shots? Is that a thing for you? You mention my choice of footwear often enough that I'm starting to think it is. It's OK, I don't judge.
