  1. There is a space between lying to your fanbase and pretending they have a shot and actually having a ML second baseman on the roster a few days before the season starts. I'd like the O's to be inhabiting that space.
  2. They were certainly "tanking" in 2018. You don't trade off everyone you can because you are trying to win. Now granted they were not "Tanking" in April but by late May? As for more comments in the coming years? Yea I expect when Elias announcing they aren't bringing in any players in 2022 and aren't expecting to compete that teams will say something off the record.
  3. When revenue sharing is more than payroll ownership does. https://www.baseball-reference.com/bullpen/Revenue_sharing Let's see the 2017 team had a payroll of ~183M and an attendance of a bit over 2M. The 2019 club had a payroll of ~80M and an attendance of 1.3M. Which team had the higher profits I wonder? No matter how bad the product a certain amount of tickets will be sold.
  4. Is he? If he keeps costs down and profits high do you think Ownership is going to want him gone? Or do you mean the Oriole Hangout hot seat?
  5. Why can't both be embarrassing? Look I was down with the rebuild, it needed to be done. But it's gone on long enough and the emphasis need to move from saving money to actually building a team that can compete.
  6. This is not just one guy's opinion. I've seen this viewpoint espoused multiple times over the rebuild. Because they cost more?
  7. Have someone else place the call.
  8. Gosh knows it would be terrible if the O's did something awkward and potentially embarrassing.
  9. L-E-V-E-R-A-G-E? Why not get paid to waive it? He's earned NT status just like he earned that contract. Why should he just give it up? You think he's going to be rehabbing his "injury" in Baltimore? I don't.
  10. And we've spent some time rebuilding. For some reason other teams don't seem to think that four, or more, years of tanking are essential to rebuilding. We have a perfect situation to get some young players ML experience and instead they are prioritizing current earnings and future savings.
  11. I'm sure in just a few more short years the O's will be spending all this money they saved to maintain and supplement the core Elias has painstakingly assembled. Oops sorry I meant, I'm sure in just a few more short years the O's will be spending all this money they saved to maintain and supplement the core Elias has painstakingly assembled.
  12. Davis has full no trade protection. Why should he agree?
  13. Orioles out there prioritizing saving lives over profits!
  14. I just did see it as an issue. i don't think five innings in a st game would and a difference.
  15. If a team isn't trying to be competitive do the games really count? The O's won't suffer a bit if a rusty Mountcastle gets a start at first in July.
  16. So you are agreeing that it is fine to do it in the regular season.
  17. Just chiming in to suggest you ask Eduardo Rodriguez how he enjoyed his bout with Corona. Just because the survival rate may be high doesn't mean lasting damage can't occur.
