  1. Without reading but 3 posts: RM has had chances.. and for whatever reason may be getting another opportunity, simply because he handles his time on the bench well. ME may not want to bring up someone to ride the pine. That's it. There's no other reason IMO. I still don't like it.
  2. Daddy, what's depth mean? Is there when someone goes far away and we might not see them again for a long long time?
  3. I took a look at Kemp's career. Nothing against him or his career, but this is a signing the "old" O's used to make. I don't like those years.
  4. Maybe a MLB trade on the horizon, and he's depth for AAA?
  5. Mine are based on what he does on the field when things aren't going his way. He has embarrassed his team, his coach(es), himself. He's a loose cannon IMO, and I believe that the chemistry on the O's is very very high. Not worth the risk. PASS!
  6. KB.. but GA is not far behind. Just for giggles, my little brain would love to hear Thorne and Lowenstein call a few games. For the record, I still think the suspension was not the only thing placed on KB's docket.
  7. With all the players in the minors, who are "rumored" to have ML abilities.. why bring him in. That wasn't a question.
  8. TLDR: My 1st thought upon reading this, was thinking that KB can be very snarky during games, and could possibly have been on double secret probation. The O's announcers have been part of the losing with the team for many years and always acted accordingly. I truly loved it when a hard fought game went our way and the announcers had fun with it. I certainly don't mind our announcers getting slightly jacked up.. but sometimes you have to reel them in a little, as they can keep stretching their calls into the 'homerism zone'. I'll give you a couple of items that hit me this year. One where I went "hahaha.. hope no one takes offense to that": Adam Frazier hit a line drive HR to right against the Angels. Ohtani had already hit a monster bomb in the game.. so KB was a tad over-exuberant in the call, harping something like "Shohei who??!" It didn't bother me, but I do know it might've tweaked non-O's fans. And this one, which is one of my favorite feel-good moments between our announcers. Recently, during the post game show beyond centerfield (Ben had just returned from the college WS, where his beloved Tigers won the championship), KB poured a shot (bourbon?) for himself, JP and BM. They all clanked and drank. The next 3-5 minutes was classic lighthearted baseball chat with booze comments that was fun to watch. I'll remember it for quite a while. I saved it and showed it to my wife the following night, and she too thought it was cool as shit. I saw nothing wrong with either of them, but all it takes is 1 phone call from a "concerned citizen" to wreak havoc on the fun. And I agree with others that feel KB could find work immediately...
  9. This umpire is a dolt. He's so influenced by the catcher, it's the reason they may become 1's and 0's.
  10. I was watching the MLB channel the other day and Harold Reynolds brought up the possibility that Gunnar Henderson running out towards the ball, while McKenna was running in, could have had Ryan wondering if Gunnar was still coming towards him. With that short outfield.. who knows? The game isn't always won or lost in the 9th inning.. and a 3 game series isn't always won or lost in the 3rd game. The outfield sucked that series.
  11. Worst game ever? It's up there, but hopefully it'll be a moot point in September. I was really dismayed by the outfield play Thursday and Saturday. Yea, it was windy.. but damn! Santander, Mullins, and Hays did not look like the best of the best (especially Hays on that Duvall pop fly). I hardly got to see any of today's game, but I hope it was an improvement.
  12. Today being Monday the 12th, I've asked my wife this same question 18 times. If he's offered a position on the team for next year, then that nullifies everything Elias has intimated all year (well, at least since they became competitive). Bringing a 32 year old during the rebuild makes no sense...
  13. Forgetting the past years and past GM's and managers, I'm going to post my feelings on yesterday's game. I was on my way to work at 1:30pm when I heard that this could be a tiebreaker game for the final playoff spot, should the O's and Rays be tied. While the odds of it happening are fairly low, I'd treat it as it IS a possibility, and leave it at that. With Mountcastle hurting, only having Nevin as the backup at 1st, is on Elias. I'm not saying they needed to IL Ryan, or send someone down/DFA.. but now you know it needs to be addressed. Having Phillips on the team, instead of a youngster, is Elias' decision as well. I'll never understand the Phillips move. EVER. I didn't see the Arozarena at-bat with 1st base open.. but if it wasn't a pitch-around, that's on Hyde. Arozarena kills us. Having Phillips .147 BA in the lineup was the hardest one for me to fathom. What team in MLB knows Phillips weaknesses at the plate more than any other team? Any guesses? Vavra was at minimum a good or (IMO) a better option. Hyde. No manager will make the right moves 100% of the time.. but when games have just a little more importance, as was the case yesterday.. I also get the "gut-feeling" scenario.. but I get paid to 2nd guess. Also note, after the game, emotionally, I felt like it was a win with how they finished it. If it'd been no-hit perfect game, it could have been a major setback. Thanks Mateo!! I record every O's game, because I like watching the games, or just highlights (as well as the low). I wanted to see how the O's pitched to Arozarena yesterday, but due to Comcast labeling the game on MASN Cleveland vs Toronto, my DVR didn't record it. Go figure. Steady as she go's O's!
  14. Scott is on his game today (sarcasm intended). I watched all 3 games against Texas, and I thought Melanie did a credible job throughout, compared to earlier in the year.
  15. My job tests for both.. but the latter is on my soon-to-be-retired radar
  16. Oh.. he plays defense. Sure am glad, because he has little offensive skills that would warrant him being picked up. Left-handed or not. I liked the Mancini and Lopez moves (contrary to my family members), and hope both guys do well.. but this move has me baffled. If I was a little younger, I'd have rolled a fatty.
  17. Maybe DD is bringing in all these pitchers, hoping the pitcher and pitching coach will find some sort of magical key that will open the pitchers full potential. You know.. just like what happened with Arrieta in Chicago.
  18. A hitch in his giddy-up? Even Milone says it's possible he could be giving his change up away. I wouldn't think that's something that can't be corrected: http://www.twincities.com/2016/05/05/struggling-twins-left-to-wonder-what-would-torii-do/
  19. Are you a full, or a part-time 'Forum Police" officer? In any event, you deserve a medal.. good job officer!
