  1. That was painfully obvious months ago. Shame we had no money or players to trade.
  2. Be great if the bottom could do something here.
  3. I think Elias/Sig know what players they want in the lineup. It might be that Hyde creates the 1-9 from there but I really don't think Hyde is doing lineups on his own.
  4. Pretty funny, but Moose's AFD joke was better.
  5. Yes, improving. Better location for sure. Good to see.
  6. Respect shown to Gunnar. Wasn't throwing a heater there.
  7. Looks worse this inning. Hope he settles in.
  8. One inning, of course, but the stuff did not look good.
  9. 8-0 and a hard lineout to end the 2nd. Stop the fight.
  10. Basically unhittable after the 1st inning. Some really nasty stuff.
  11. Strange stuff. Where is everyone physically? When do uniforms go on? The game is 2.5 hours away but there are the pre game ceremonies and such. I mean, anyone who might possibly make the 26 has to be there, though maybe those not making it already know.
  12. Which is a problem. This would have improved the team, cost no prospects, and still left the Orioles with a low payroll this year and next, where the rotation is losing at least Burnes.
  13. Sure, sure, but we just signed Tony Kemp. Basically the same thing.
  14. Yeah but a 2 year deal is way longer than 1. Can't expect the O's to do something crazy like that. It's fine.
  15. Don't know if it's the norm. A couple more weeks in the minors for another year of control? That would seem very advantageous to the club. However, I do think it's starting to get the wrong kind of attention. We are not there yet but, IF there becomes a perception that the Orioles are slow to give MLB opportunities, it could make it harder to sign those young, high profile prospects/amateurs. Also, while I don't agree with the thread about Matt Holliday being upset, I imagine the decision to keep Jackson out of Baltimore right now may come up if/when the Orioles have contract negotiations with him.
  16. Wasn't asked of me... but of course it is. All along, I was confident it would happen so it's hard to be mad about it. Generally speaking, within the current MLB structure, that's smart business. What I will run seriously out of patience on is if the absolute refusal to sign anyone continues with the new ownership. That needs time to work itself out, so we continue to wait, but there is hope the new regime will spend some of the money rather than hoarding all of it. Obviously, a team doesn't need clock games if someone has a long term contract. I'd wager quite a bit that, if Holliday had an 8-10 year deal, he'd be the starting 2nd baseman right now.
  17. So Elias trades for Fuji again?
  18. Umm... not great. Double, walk, single with a few ground outs.
