  1. Same here. I never thought I'd feel that way. But yeah, I prefer the cartoon bird overall and my excitement of reintroducing it put me over the moon. It would be nice to have one of these as an alternate.
  2. Isn't that the truth! I just went over there and the latest article from yesterday at 4am (about Coulombe, Webb, and Mullins) and there's almost 5800 comments about the news of the sale. I didn't check to see if any were replies from Roch, but I'm not gonna waste my time looking, either.
  3. Not much to add. I think this sums it up for me.
  4. And they had a minor league O's there for a good spell as well. I actually got to play there in high school in the State Championship. Apparently, Raleigh is making a strong bid for a MLB expansion team, with NC's Governor, the Carolina Hurricanes' owner (billionaire), former State Budget Director (and my former boss) all on the same team pushing this. "I think it's clear that there is going to be a serious effort to bring MLB to North Carolina," Lou Pascucci told The Center Square in an email exchange. He's with MLB Raleigh alongside Ryan Foose and Will Gadd, who started on the project nearly five years ago and now are aligned with former state budget director Charlie Perusse, Gov. Roy Cooper and Carolina Hurricanes owner Tom Dundon." A lot more on this is here. https://mlbraleigh.com
  5. A new show called Game Thread With Roy Firestone.
  6. I know when I'm giddy with excitement of a new purchase, sometimes I go overboard or splurge. You know, like springing for the undercoat.
  7. Scotch for me. The news broke as the sun was setting at my place, so I went to the back yard, put down a lawn chair and savored all the goodness of the day and how it was sweetened with this news.
  8. The end of this HR hose was epic. Mounty did it on more than one occasion. I want him to keep it in his repertoire.
  9. Melvin Mora and Miguel Tejada
  10. Munch and Bolander
  11. How was Steve Finley's arm in his brief time as an Oriole? Brady Andersons arm? I didn't have much access to O's games in their era.
  12. I suppose there's some chance at least that one of those contracts end up resembling the Chris Davis latter years and are a drag on their books.
  13. I've done this many times in my head trying to get to sleep at night. I never had a problem remembering all of them and a lot of the Norfolk folks who came up and down.
  14. Put this sign on the top of the Warehouse and all will be well. We're all used to it anyway.
  15. I'm 18 years on OH as of tomorrow (and start drawing Social Security on Wednesday). But my posts are far, far behind in number, 5.4k. Overall, I have gone by the philosophy that it's better to be thought of as a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt! Although, honestly, I'm still probably a clown no matter how one looks at it. Congrats, Frobby! Have always enjoyed your even-handedness and balance in your opinions and thoughts on here.
  16. Same here, back when Tate Armstrong was maybe Duke's best player.
  17. I grew up an NC State sports fan, so in the last 40 years or so, underdog status has been a way of life. I don't follow college sports anywhere near like I did in the 70s. So when local teams UNC and Duke play (I live almost exactly between Durham and Chapel Hill), outwardly, I act like I'm neutral to my UNC friends, but at the very last minute, I can't shake that upbringing and pull for UNC to lose. Whatever causes them pain Overall, it's not that big of a deal and I am happy for my friends. I just wish they'd shut up once in awhile. I just would like a slice of the pie the winners eat occasionally.
  18. Agreed. Of course, next thing you know, we'll read the conspiracy that he had an interest in those arms dealers of yore, the Baltimore Bullets.
  19. I had the same thought. But didn't Frobby go to Wake Forest (and on was on the varsity hoops team) in the 70s?
  20. I suppose there's a marketing tie-it, maybe a give-away for free crab dinners whenever he gets a save. I always thought his stance as he's getting the sign looked quite crab-like.
  21. I used to have one of those pitching machines. Miss having one. But at 62, there’s not much to prep for anymore. Fun watching this.
