Do the Os get anything if Cowser finishes second in the voting?

Rivera is hitting, but I'm not sure Soto's 3 for 10 is enough of a sample size. That said, I'd go with Rivera and Holliday.

This. Not to mention Kjerstadt hasn't really struggled to the extent we've seen w/Holliday and Mayo. It's painful watching Jiminez and Riveral at this point.

We already have below average defense at both corners (while Mountcastle is on the IL), so like you, I don't understand why Mayo is not getting more of a shot. We already know what Maton et al can't do, let's see what Mayo can do if given half a chance.

I guess I don't understand worrying about infield depth to the point the Os feel compelled to make this kind of transaction. If Urias gets hurt, Mountcastle can finish out that game, and then bring up Mayo the next day.

This off-season will be a litmus test for the new ownership team. I certainly agree that we should back up the money truck to Burnes' house, but we may have to take our chances losing Santander, much as I'd like to keep him as well. I would disagree that Elias traded away anything of value.

The home plate umpires ball/strike calls have generally been atrocious this season, and what I notice about Mayo is that he takes hittable pitches early in the count, falls behind, and then either swings at a pitch out of the strike zone or gets rung up on a pitch out of the strike zone. Regardless, he'll figure it out w/more experience. Now defense is another story.

I can't see any team giving anything for Urias even if he's only the small part of a larger package. Teams know we have an infield backlog, and as someone pointed out, he's always a hair's breath from being DFA.

According to Fan Graphs, he does not.

I suppose it's a matter of taste, but I hate the beard. I may come around, however, if the dude can get major league hitters out. Who gets bumped at Norfolk?
