What I find funny is everyone excited about the farm system when we have been beyond awful for how long? And not just awful, embarrassing. Pardon the Interruption on ESPN laughing about our franchise today in prime time. Who couldn’t rebuild the farm in this losing scenario? In fact, his approach has caught the eye of the commissioners office it’s so obvious. And in a town with a tremendous winning football franchise that takes BPA, Elias cuts coupons and many on this board think he is a genius. Why do so many love this guy? Boggles my mind. Have fun turning that losing culture around. On a side note: if I am Brandon Hyde and am replaced when they actually try ….furious!

Just heard a friend in the scouting biz refer to Green as Harper-esque which means to me the scouting community loves his potential. But you are right, a lot can happen. Have you spoken to any professional scouts? I am not one nor do I know (Tony may have some insights) but from what I am hearing, he isn't like everyone else and is a legit #1. But again, your point is right, things can happen: injuries, holes in his profile exposed, etc.

What are the odds Elias actually selects Greene and doesn't go underslot? Also, one thing I think that is important to bring up is that when Showalter came here he talked about winning is a cultural thing and he even said Spring Training games were important to set a tone. Be competitive in all games. Clearly Elias doesn't follow this thought process.... How do you turn this massive dumpster fire around when some prospects arrive? Do you think that will be super easy? Does Elias have any experience in doing this or just as a scouting director?

Scouts like him a lot. I heard Harpers scouting profile mentioned as an equal bar(diff profile of course), high praise bc they had him penciled in as greatest player ever.

People so upset at Buster, Britt & Jon but they are calling a spade a spade. This organization is grossly incompetent. Let’s hope Elias changes that but no panacea with such deep rooted dysfunction.

I just pray he takes Greene next year with the number 1 pick. I am scared crapless he will go cheap yet again. Being a top rated farm system and winning or completely different things. Plus, sale of the team is a huge factor in the timeline. What if Peter lives another 5 years? Adley might be traded in that scenario b4 he hits free agency. Good to see the improvement but how can they not improve after watching a painfully unwatchable product after how many years?
