Povich seems on the thin side. Does adding weight and strength guarantee more on his fastball? He’s currently low 90s occasionally hitting 95.

Westburg deserves to be promoted, but nowhere to play in the IF. Maybe the same next year if Mateo and Urias stay.

I would be really disappointed if he and Westburg don’t get called up by mid-June. They both could help the parent club.

Surprised about Tavera, he didn’t seem to standout at the DSL. Delmarva seems like a major jump.

I do wonder, why not stick him in the outfield with the obvious logjam of IF talent. Maybe they are selling him as SS/3B for a future trade.

I haven’t jumped ship on Gunnar yet. In lieu Markakis’s rookie year had a similar trajectory (I hope). He struggled the first half (fans clamoring to demote him), but walked then figured it out and exploded. Looking around the league, many top prospect rookies are struggling including Walker who was sent down.

Puzzling, they don’t try Stowers or Santander there to get everyone playing time. Both 6’2 - 6’3 instead of the gold glove 3B.

I want to be optimistic, but I don’t think he has the fortitude to be a starter. Walks too many and never been able to pitch 100 innings. Should be switch to Hader role or backend bullpen.

Buying free agent pitching through a long term contract are bad investments.

Givens and Tate can’t get here quick enough. However, no guarantee they will be effective right off the bat.

On a side note, seeing the O's have success grabbing talent from the rule 5 draft (like T Wells), waiver wire, free agency, and trades. I can see the reluctance to grab a pitcher high in the draft. The higher percentage of success seems to be grabbing hitters with certain skillsets.

Our front office seems to be doing everything well to elevate our talent and improve the team on the field. They have very bright people and great front-office leadership with Elias/Sig. I just don't understand not signing anyone long-term when salaries keep going up?

Basallo being 18 and a catcher (takes time to develop those skills). Do they keep him in Delmarva all year if he keeps it up on the offensive side?
