My bad - I half read your post and only saw “we have not seen the best of Hall”. It seems we had the same thoughts after completely reading. Sorry

I have a different opinion of DL Hall, if a club values him enough (paired with another young player) to give us an upside pitcher like Seattle’s Kirby or Cincinnati’s Lolodo - I won’t hesitate. He’s 24 years old, has never gone 100 innings, history of injury and control issues. We need to stop falling in love with our players and look at them objectively.

I thought Gavin Lux would be a star- sometimes prospects disappoint.

We said the same thing for Mullins last year. Any regrets for not trading him for pitching with his value being at his highest.

Disappointing Westburg wasn’t able to join Gunnar. He definitely deserved it.

Mateo is our best defensive shortstop. Just leave Gunnar at 3rd where he has potential to be a gold glove defender.

Who would the team realistically get as TOR? Guys like Rodon, DeGromm and Verlander will cost 30-35 plus per year. if we go the trade route, are you willing trade the prospects that Seattle gave up to get their no 1 starter? Would you be happy with that type of starter from Cincinnati ?

I wonder if the underslot game nets any value in the lower rounds. Look at the last two drafts, what did we gain with this strategy? Carter Young and Creed Willems. We missed out on better talent than Creed/Carter in the early rounds trying underslot.

Agreed. I wonder if the general consensus here feel he met expectations after being drafted 5th with many wishing for Lawler?

Hit his 19 homerun, but striking out ridiculously and keeping that OBP at a good rate at AAA.

Norby is so underrated. Should be top 100 prospect when the list get a refresh at end of the year for MLB pipeline and BA.

I wonder if Westburg has significantly better plate discipline than Mounty? Sometimes OBP in the minors does not tell the full story. For me, the biggest issue with Mounty is the inability to take a walk.

Why trade Mancini and spend extra to get a worser version of him during the offseason? I guess you don’t get that Elias is trying to get max value acquisitions that won’t hamper our budget and extend our talent.

I would ecstatic to see Ortiz called up - just worried about him getting playing time.

It seems we are ok with position players. The pitching is a deep concern - don’t see who we could sign or trade for that’s better than Lyles. As I see it - pitching is a scarcity and we are fighting every other team to find that resource.

Maybe our future LF and 1B if we trade Mountcastle or Hays? Big guy with power.

I know the Ortiz’s age has been hammered to death. He will be 25 years next year - how many top 100 prospects are that age last 5-10 years? Keep in mind, many fans here were complaining Adley was too old at 24 years for not being promoted last year or during the start of year (I know he was injured).

I wonder if he even matches Matusz’s career.

Do we know that Santander will be the same player next year and stay healthy? It could be a big mistake falling in love with our own players and not being objective about the risk. His value is high -if a team is will trade us young talented pitching- why not? Elias isn't the type that trades for junk.

I agree, I just don’t see the front office paying 35-40+ million per year for Verlander or Codon. Trading Mullins or Santander plus one of our team top 10 prospect (Westburg , Norby or Cowser) makes more sense to get pitching. Due to age, Ortiz is probably viewed an util guy to other teams.

Gunnar able to play multiple positions with above average defense, why is Vavra still on the team who can’t hit and lacks defense flexibility. Probably gets dumped when Wells/GRod is ready.

Any chance he’s makes the top 100 prospect list? May lead the top farm system in homeruns.

Well, he’s getting time in LF. Would love to see how his bat progresses next year and who emerges as the best rookie hitter from the Westburg, Gunnar, Ortiz and Cowser group?

I would love see this happen and see how he does.
