  1. Ryan’s second hit of the game was on a pitch well below the strike zone. Yet he stuck with the off speed pitch and lined an rbi single. Pretty impressive awareness and game impact with last night’s plate appearances, including the sac fly. Hope this is a sign of continued growth and consistency
  2. There seems to be too much: it was close enough that the umpire could not make the right call, yet the right call is up to the review to say we cannot tell. If it’s a tie, okay, otherwise call the one time review correctly
  3. Wish they replayed that Adley SO called by the 3b ump
  4. Stowers Off one of the best relievers in the game. HR outside corner strike just a perfect hit: https://youtu.be/Ge_I7LutioA
  5. Read on MASN today that Wells offered Hyde to pitch yesterday with the bullpen being tea taxed. Gotta like this type team player!
  6. Definitely agree, Wells has IL stints in every season. Hopefully he can build on the 23 GS and 100 IP from last year!
  7. Tyler Wells has gone through all the tests needed to be a Starting Pitcher for the 2023 rotation. Lots of concerns with his rule 5 initiation, injuries, etc. His injury history is only as much a concern, as any candidate on the annual rotation. Let him start from here on out and the Orioles will be more successful. This guy can pitch. SSS, I beg not…he has the stuff, arm angle and just picked up the team tonight! More to come….job Wells done!
  8. Remember thinking the HP umpire was doing a good job around the 3rd inning. Once the O’s were up a bunch of runs, he was calling more close pitches strikes against the O’s. Of course I am completely biased, but that is probably a usual correlation.
  9. Concerned that Urias’s trade value gets diminished with the WBC knee insurance. Excited for Ramon’s 2023 season. His immediate reaction to that 387’ home run shows his awareness of where he can hit a pitch, based on the ballpark and pitcher. Should of picked him over Hay’s for career year poll!
  10. I think of the Nationals WS run, as an optimist. Very little fan base for the first decade, yet a lot of Red Sox hats disappeared in the DMV area when they started winning. Baltimore can bounce back, if the powers that be allow for it and this team goes on a run. I live in VA and noticed the same fandom change for the Ravens good run. Different markets now, but the die-hard fans continue to age out.
  11. Did not know the catcher can call one time out for each batter, which may mitigate this a little bit.
  12. Does the opening day lineup still dictate all star ballots for each team…I’m checking my 1980’s game paraphernalia this weekend
  13. Without reading comments and not knowing official offers made to free agents C. If this were 2024 F!
  14. 80 wins and there are going to be some exciting chunks of games to watch this season. Just do not think there is enough talent and experience to run it for the whole season.
  15. Is there a competitive reason the O’s do not broadcast more ST games, or is steady data still available, regardless? Today’s game is on MASN.
  16. The next man up in the rotation. How often can the O’s say that with this caliber !
  17. Without reading this thread, Austin Hays! A lot of caveats, injury in this case, there is flexibility and competition at every position 3-9 (&DH). Hays should see a little DH if his bat hits the ceiling throughout 2023. 5 bwar predicted, Austin’s best season with the O’s.
  18. I agree, would prefer MASN invest in their product at least some each year and add to their Orioles content for a growing fan base, as the competition window increases.
  19. GRod starting tomorrow and the game will be covered by MASN2, through the Red Socks broadcast. 1:05 PM
  20. Baseball reference usually has the agent in each players bio.
  21. Stated this (not selling the team) in other threads, but what concerns me is holding onto money to save ownership. Would prefer an owner who uses $20m of budget not spent in current years, on the future mlb team’s investments (i.e. we could have gave Bassit $20m+ the next year couple of years, but push that budget into next year). Now it is most likely clear profits need to be hoarded to save the owners, over investing in a championship caliber team. Hope to be proven wrong on this, but the clock has already started ticking and we may continue to be unhappy, each offseason (for key additions) Reverse thoughts on this subject: investments in International spending, their new DR facility, opening up public discussions, all point to a direction that I hope proves my instinct wrong!
  22. Voted yes, because of the talent 2022 represented and made for the first exciting team inseveral years. Any regression or injuries in 2023 will be be offset by breakout seasons, or bounce back seasons from the veterans, IMO. And depth The pitching depth will fill the necessary holes, or traded for higher upgrades. Elias cannot hold onto the mil talent before it becomes a must and need to hit the 40 man roster. Expect a ST trade, or significant trades by this time next year. The next two years will be interesting. If not, then why the X are the O’s talking about liftoff!
  23. D is about right with what was available, but I would give it a B+ compared to the O’s prior offseason
  24. When the O’s win three playoff games from the pitching and offense stepping up! and then more!
