25 Nuggets
79 home runs have been hit onto Eutaw Street, something the ball club graciously tracks for us: - Mickey Tettleton was the first to do it (4/20/92), 406 ft just past the foul pole. - Henry Rodriguez has the longest tape measure (in a regular season game), 443 ft to the back center flag court, 6/17/97. Of course Griffey Jr has the warehouse shot. - Jay Gibbons came closest to hitting the warehouse (6/28/03), 420 ft by the foul line inches away from hitting bricks. - Two Orioles lead the pack with five blasts each: Luke Scott and Chris Davis. - Jason Giambi has the most Eutaw St homers as a visitor, with three. He did it once in '05 and twice in '08. - Most blasts in one year? Eleven, as recent as 2013. Including such luminaries as Roger Bernadina, Hank Conger, Robbie Grossman, and our own Ryan Flaherty! - The last man to hit a ball to Eutaw St was Victor Martinez (5/13/14), 416 ft and four feet directly in front of Gibbons' ball. I just thought it'd be a fun topic to start the season. Any guesses who joins the club this year?
Redskins Rick
Nice post. Snider is going to be the first Orioles this season. I wonder if Markakis will hit it as a former Oriole.
