No, of course not. They need to DL him, look at the video, figure out the curve, figure out the inability to get it down, rehab him through the minors and put him in the pen if he doesn't look better. That is a lot different than just cutting him loose.

Maybe you're right and he will eventually right the ship... but are the O's really in a position to be patient with him, trotting him out there every 5th game with little to no chance of winning until something clicks?

That's the real issue, and no, they aren't. Between the choice of trying to fix him at the MLB level and giving away every fifth game, and letting him go, we need to think strongly about the latter.
