ESPN 2016 Preseason Power Rankings: Orioles @ #23

The MLB Network Radio guys haven't changed their opinions. Many of them think the Orioles are the team with the quick start that will fall apart. They also say the Orioles' offense is a tier below Toronto, Detroit and the Chicago Cubs.

By the way, I just want to reiterate what I said last week ...... I don't take these rankings too seriously, and/or get particularly upset about them. It's just something to ponder in the couple of hours leading up to an Oriole game, or on a day in which the Orioles have off.

I do find the severe swaying of the Orioles' ranking interesting (starting the season at #23, and currently sitting at #4 after only having played 17 games.)

The Orioles are down 3 slots from the previous week (from #4 to #7.)

The loss to the White Sox on Friday night (which wound up prevented them from taking 3 out of 4 games from them) probably cost that at least a couple of spots.

They are up 16 slots from the original Preseason rankings (from #23 to #7.)

Not sure if you heard, but Big Papi hit 2 HR against the vaunted New York Yankees. I'd like to see an Oriole hit two HR in one game. ;)

Nope. Everyone knows the Royals are real and the Orioles are false.

I think Boston will fade away because their SP is so fantastically awful

Was watching the MLB Network this morning and they (a poll of their analysts, I guess) had the O's ranked 6th. But two of the analysts who were in studio as they were discussing this, had them in their top 5 (DeRosa and Byrnes - the former had them as #2).

I know it would probably be a lot of work, but if all teams in that list were set in team colors like the Orioles are, it would look gorgeous. :D
