We'll have to go 5-2 to turn it around against the Yankees. Unfortunately, 4 of those 7 remaining games will be in the Bronx.

The Orioles caught the NYY during their hot streak. Perhaps it will be different next time.

Not pitching Judge middle in, intentionally or unintentionally, will go a long way to getting us to that point...that and not giving up 7+runs before 5 outs are recorded.

It's a darn good thing for this year's Orioles that they play an unbalanced schedule.  ¬¬

By the time this weekend is over, the season will be exactly at the halfway point, and we will have played 46 games against the AL East.    In the second half, we play only 30 games against the East.    Meanwhile, after this weekend, the other AL East teams have the following divisional games remaining:

Boston - 45

New York - 43

Tampa - 39

Toronto - 39

Boston and New York play each other 14 times in the second half!

In most years, I'd be happy to feast on the other divisions while our AL East rivals beat each other up in the second half, but so far this year, we've been much stronger in the division (25-18) than outside of it (14-21).

I think that Gary just said that 12 is the most wins that we've ever had against Toronto in a season.

It is, but that is somewhat misleading.

The teams have only been playing each other 18-19 times per season since 2001.

The Blue Jays have been in existence since 1977.

The Orioles went 11-2 in back-to-back seasons against the Blue Jays in 1979 and 1980, and went 10-3 against them in 1982. Plus, they went 10-5 against them in their inaugural season of 1977.
