Wieters' questionable pitch callls

Matt (and/or his pitcher) called a few questionable pitches last night. 3-1 to dead red sitting Bautista? All fastballs from Ubaldo?

I was wondering about that pitch, but how do you know Matt called for it there as opposed to Chris throwing it there? I assumed it was the latter, but don't know.

Ubaldo didn't throw a single pitch that was below belt high. It's got nothing to do with Wieters' pitch calling.

Tillman threw a center cut fastball on 3-1. I doubt that's where Wieters asked for the pitch to be.

Ubaldo threw belt high sinkers to 3 straight batters. I doubt that's the location Wieters wanted. I have a feeling whatever sign Wieters put down for Ubaldo last night, it wasn't going to end well.

We let up 2 runs the first 10 innings. Had Bourn made the play in RF maybe only one. If Matt does leave at least this topic will go away.

In the 11th this issue could have been avoided if only we had a pitcher who throws almost exclusively 97 mph sinkers in the bottom of the zone. Such a pitcher would have been the ideal choice for the situation were were faced with last night and taken the pitch calling right out of Wieters' hands. Oh well.

Either way, a fastball was called to a hitter looking fastball, in spite of Tillman having more success with offspeed pitches last night.

Stop looking for a scapegoat. A great Toronto lineup was held to TWO runs until the 11th. Want to blame someone, blame anyone in our lineup not named Trumbo.
