The main question is he can stick in the majors is can he play 3B. I know he hasn't in the majors, but do the O's feel comfortable enough with him there? I don't think it's necessary to have a utlility player that can play SS since Manny can slide over and I don't think its necessary to have someone to can play 1B since Trumbo or Mancini could play there. As for the OF, with Kim, Smith, Jones, Rickard and more I don't know if OF is a requirement either (though he has played there in the minors). 

In the end, he could serve in the utility role, but I don't know if his bat is enough of an upgrade to make it worthwhile. Still, I hope he doesn't opt out at the end of March to at least provide minor league depth for a few months.
