Athletics traded OF Jaycob Brugman to the Orioles

I suppose he is an okay placeholder insofar as some complementary skills to Mancini/Jones/Hays, and will earn the minimum in a year we need as many marbles as possible for pitchers.  Other backup outfielders will make 10x as much without being 10x better.

We could go cheap in RF, and use as much resources as possible for SP's. I wouldn't mind seeing Seth Smith back on a cheap 1yr deal.

I agree. He is just a long shot at this point.

I actually like this trade on several levels.

Os announce they've traded RHP Jacob Bray to the Oakland Athletics to complete the November 22 trade to acquire OF Jaycob Brugman.

The TJ surgery partially  explains why he was only pitching in the Sally League.   But to say the O’s have been slow to move him up is an understatement:

2013 - GCL

2014 - TJ surgery

2015 - GCL/Aberdeen

2016 - Aberdeen/Delmarva

2017 - Delmarva

He must have had some other health issues in 2016, because he started in Delmarva, missed June and half of July, then spent the rest of the year back at Aberdeen.
