Not a good game for Cashner.

You survive a game in Coors, I call it a good game.   It’s like no place else.

Cashner was pitching on 7 days' rest.

He was originally scheduled to start Thursday's game against the Rangers, but was pushed back 2 days because of leg soreness.

(JUNE 14th)/BB)

Cashner has been scratched from tonight's start against the Red Sox because he has a BLISTER ON HIS FING - GUH !!!

Cashner is watching his substitute pitch ........ that substitute (Luis Ortiz) barely weaseled out of the 3rd inning by striking the Red Sox batter out with the bases loaded and 2 outs to keep it a 1-run game ........ and Andrew Cashner violently slammed his hand down on the dugout post in satisfaction, as though Ortiz' strikeout of the batter came in a crucial game of a playoff race in late September.

I love this guy !!! ))) :grouphug:

I believe that if the season ended today, Cashner would be in the conversation for the MVO ........ I'm not saying that he would necessarily get it, but I believe that he would be in the conversation.

He was good this afternoon, with a little help from his friends on defense ........ although they (the defense) did make him have to get the proverbial 4 outs in his 6th and final inning of work.

Perhaps one of the most improbable seasons for a starting pitcher (in this kind of arena) was when Steve Carlton won 27 games in a strike-shortened season for a team that had a winning percentage of .378 (59-97) in 156 games played.

He might have won 28 or 29 if not for the early-season strike.
