Two pitchers suspended 50 games - New York Yankees catcher Damian Taveras and Baltimore Orioles pitcher Ambiorix Suero were suspended for 50 games each Monday after positive tests for banned performance-enhancing substances under baseball's minor league program.

Didn't this stop with Tejada?

Wait, so... our pitcher's name is Ambiorix or that's what he was taking?

"Mark Teixeira told Red Sox owner John Henry the other day that he has offers higher than what the Red Sox offered, but as Boston gauges the market, it's clear that club executives now must have serious doubts about that." - Buster Olney in his blog

Didn't Scott Boras tell John Henry off?

See... silly Buster Olney, cant even get his own "reports" right.

That's my point. The poster said Boras always wins.

Sometimes even he has to give in.

Not this time though, no deadline and somebody is going to give Boras what he wants to end the stalemate...

At this point it seems you can have Tex for under 200 million, so somebody is going to jump on that, and I think it will be the Orioles...

Something that just doesn't make sense to me that I will throw out...

There are reports that...

- Yankees haven't talked to Boras about Tex, at least recently

- Red Sox haven't talked since Thursday

- Orioles haven't talked since Thursday

- Angels are out (pretty official)

So that just leaves the Nationals as the only team that have possibly talked to Boras since last Thursday (by whats reported). If no one is talking to him what exactly is going on?

The "reporters" know just as little about this as the rest of us, there is no way no one is talking to Boras...

The Nationals reportedly made an eight-year, $160 million offer. It's unclear whether they have upgraded that offer during this process, and it's unclear whether Teixeira is absolutely open to the idea of playing for a team that figures to struggle for at least a couple of more seasons. Privately, folks within the organization are telling others that they are very pessimistic about their chances, and one high-ranking executive has indicated to confidants that he has not altered his initial offer.

As much as I would like to get news RIGHT NOW, I would like to point out the news cycles I've witnessed in this saga.

The news won't start rolling into until a little after 5. Business is open in California so I am sure that as I type this, Boras is on the phone with someone regarding Tex.

EDIT - My money says that right now its the Yanks.

Boras needs to move his happy a$$ to an eastern time zone city... that way we on the east coast dont have to wait for this news!

So far no one's rushing to end the stalemate. We know that at this point.

So where are we come January? Eventually the Nats start talking to Dunn, or the Red Sox look at other ways to upgrade their club.

We could be the last team standing. Slight chance at that, but it's possible.

I think he gets a personal thrill out of keeping big shot FO personnel on the East Coast up until 3 in the morning on the phone... Maybe that;s his strategy - he gets them so tired they don' tthink straight and start offering big money. :scratchchinhmm:

Nobody will ever know that, even if it's true.

The truth is nobody really knows what the really true and whats not. The media may think they know whats going on, but as its been proven over the last few weeks they don't. The only thing we know is close to being true, whether you want to belive it or not, are the direct quotes from the GM's/Owners and Boras say and not what the so called "experts" say on ESPN or any other source. MacPhail said were willing to up our offer if need be. Boston said they won't be a factor, Angels are out, and no one in Nats front office has said anything one way or another. Yankees, well who knows about them. Those are the only things we really know. As fans its hard for us to just sit and wait for this thing to play out, without knowing any hard facts. I know I would love for Tex to be an Oriole, along with the rest of the OH, but we have to let the negotiations take their course. Its not over till its over.

    • I  agree with that  I still wouldn't mind another WR especially if they lose one of the main 3 due to injury. Bateman still scares me but it would be very nice if he's finally living up to his first round billing. What safety or pass rusher are you interest in ? I'm seeing people mentioning Baker from Arizona he would cost a lot.
    • You’re not really allowed to say that. How guys happen to perform for a couple weeks in October is a matter of their character and personal makeup. It’s not random. How the team fares in those couple weeks is the only meaningful measure of its quality and the competence of those who built it. It’s not random. After all, aren’t the storylines all the same things we’d talked about all season? No way CLE and PHI could rely on those shaky bullpens. And HOU and MIL were stuck counting on guys like Hader and Williams to shut down games, recipe for disaster. The LAD pitching would obviously outduel SDP when it counted, and the Tigers made the grave error of relying on someone like Skubal in a winner-take-all against Matthew Boyd. The Yankees are winning thanks to the production of the guys at the bottom of their lineup and by far the best closer in the playoffs. As we all predicted, Bobby Witt, Manny Machado, Luis Arraez, Austin Wells, Josh Naylor are all among the very worst qualified hitters in the playoffs. And expectedly, the best hitters have been guys like Brayan Rocchio, Giancarlo Stanton, Mark Vientos, Jesse Winker, and Kyle Higashioka. And of course, it was basically a dead heat between Dylan Cease and Max Fried for worst SP in the playoffs — and an absolute runaway for Emmanuel Clase as the biggest one-man disaster in the entire playoffs. What’s random?
    • Problem is Cleveland's pitching has been suspect too. If Cleveland can get some better pitching they can push this series to 7 games because Yankees bullpen is getting hit hard. I see Cleveland winning the next game and then the Yankees close this series out in game six back back at the Bronx.
    • Apparently Naylor got under what would have been a 3-run HR. Cleveland should be done, but stranger things have happened. And this NYY pitching is looking mightily suspect.
    • I agree the first round of playoffs there was very little offense in the Wild card and ALDS  but these two series has been ton of runs because the starters are nit giving you even 5 innings.
    • But he looked good tonight. These managers are burning these relievers so much.  Then guys aren’t as sharp or even unavailable. Its really over the top.
