It's almost as if we've learned nothing from Holliday and Mayo, this season. Or even Cowser last (less applicable given much more advanced age, but still). In short, there's certainly more reason than the one you've given.

Difference is that you would be using him as a backup vs a starter.  Now, perhaps, you think he just needs more reps to maximize his talent, which is fair.
