Interesting article on WAR aging curve

Here's an interesting artice on how the age-WAR curve looks for different kinds of players. http://baseballanalysts.com/archives/2010/06/war_aging_curve.php

He shows different curves for big players/small players, good defenders/bad defenders, good hitters/bad hitters, high strikeouts/low strikeouts, high walk rate/low walk rate. Two pretty interesting things here:

1. Good hitters tend to hold their value very well until about age 31, then start declining in almost linear fashion.

2. Bad defenders (who presumably are a subset of good hitters) have a higher WAR peak than good defenders, but good defenders hold their value better and at age 32/33 the good defenders have more value.

I think this rules out Adam Dunn. ;)
