  1. The MLB marketing machine knows only Judge & Ohtani. Let's stay under the radar a little while longer. I like our guys to exceed expectations.
  2. But if the Os win just one of those four, they're ahead. Right?
  3. Gregg Olson > Brad Brach As a pitcher and a color analyst.
  4. Gotta be better than the depressing, no-audience 2020 games they've been using lately. Makes me wonder who picks the filler games...
  5. I like your logic here, but I still get irked watching Irvin throw 147 pitches to sneak through four innings. Thank goodness for awesome outfielders!
  6. Levy Restaurants is the current concessionaire (in a joint venture arrangement with the Orioles called "Brick & Whistle Food Co.") and they began a five-year deal in January. By virtue of that arrangement, the O's have ponied up millions in behind-the-scenes (long overdue) food service facilities and equipment upgrades. The O's aren't going away, guys. I'm guessing we will hear about a 30-year lease agreement before Labor Day...
  7. Tate should be back before Givens. He's been playing at Norfolk.
  8. He's sure having a mighty fine week!
  9. On a long drive last month I was listening to the O's against the Braves with Newman and Arnold on the radio (via the mlb.tv app) and they were both terrible. It was during the 3rd inning I remembered, that in fact I did have a different option, so I switched to the Atlanta radio feed. What a difference, not only in broadcasting talent, but the production level was much higher that what WBAL/The Orioles put out there. The Braves broadcast was delivered in lush STEREO! I like Kevin Brown on TV. I really enjoyed Gregg Olson's color cameo during the Toronto series. After Kevin, you can keep all of the other PBP announcers the Orioles march out there. And to think, at one time we had Jon Miller, Joe Angel, Gary Thorne......
  10. Your soul. Nothing more than your soul.
  11. I think we saw Boston sampling this idea during Spring Training. No clue regarding the results. The Os have some very speedy fielders. Mullins, Hays, McKenna, Mateo... I'm not against it.
  12. 25 Front Office staff? Pretty sure there are over 300 now...
  13. Congrats indeed, but I thought someone had to complete the 5th inning to record a W. Did something change?
  14. For most games, gates are one hour before first pitch. "Selected" games are two hours. Opening day the gates open at noon. https://www.mlb.com/orioles/ballpark/information/guide#g-content
  15. I hope to never again endure Dan Gladden calling a baseball game. *shudders*
  16. Four scoreless innings for Kremer in the opener for Israel!
  17. I'm rooting for Gillaspie. The dude is a veteran of the Pecos League, for crying out loud. He's really come a long way!
  18. Cedric Mullins said something along the idea that he was looking forward to "recovery time" beginning a half hour sooner.
  19. You are correct. The new name hasn't been selected, but it will be a sportsbook restaurant.
  20. The Astros winning 90 games makes them best in the AL? I guess balancing out the schedule affects every team a little bit.
  21. After 30+ years in Austin, I just returned to Baltimore. Which pretty much makes this a lock to come true! I really don't think MLB would play that well in Austin. There are lots and lots of ways for folks there to dispose of their entertainment dollars. And anyone in ATX with lots of dough tends to spend July and August somewhere else.
  22. Rick Sutcliffe was the first bearded Oriole, if memory serves...
  23. Over .900 OPS his last college season, with a dozen HRs. No idea if he's played in any of the wooden bat summer leagues.
  24. Silas had a great season with Texas as a sophomore last spring. Hoping his bat plays as well in Aberdeen/Bowie in 2023.
