  1. The price for Bautista would be super steep for me. Good possibility that Lopez is a guy that's about to turn into a pumpkin, IMO. Need to see how he rebounds from this rough stretch he's been through but I'd be much more inclined to part with him before Bautista. Bautista is cheap, controlled talent. Gotta keep that guy around unless there's some significant value coming back.
  2. Getting a little compliment from ESPN's Power Rankings today! https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/34201300/mlb-power-rankings-week-13-which-teams-lead-season-halfway-point I know a lot of posters here seem to think the media hates the Orioles so it's nice to see something somewhat positive and the Orioles trending towards the top 2/3 of POWER RANKINGS!!!!!!!
  3. If he really left the team to try to save his marriage or something, she must be one hell of a woman in order to ditch a $77 million salary and go AWOL.
  4. That was a fun time! Ohtani disappointed on the mound and at the plate, though. Glad we're missing him on the mound again this year, I don't know if we'd be so lucky again.
  5. Yeah, I wanted him. Oh well.
  6. He's becoming a favorite "Bad Oriole."
  7. I like Hyde and I think he deserves a shot to manage a team with better talent. Seems like a good dude and the players seem to like him, too.
  8. Every day on Orioles Hangout! (that's a joke, Drungo, you know I love you)
  9. What's done is done. He's in the system, he'll probably get promoted at some point. But that's not what I was talking about. I was talking about his signing in the first place.
  10. Not what you wanted to see against Seattle after beating the piss out of the White Sox. Next three are against the Twins who are pretty good this year but are 5-5 over their last 10.
  11. Julio Rodriguez is going to be tough to beat. He's going to be a 20/20 player in his first year, barring injury. Already at 19 steals. Just chalk it up to who has the most WAR, anyway.
  12. Good points, and I agree. Harvey might be the best option at some point here, I don't dispute that. However, I don't believe he should have been here in the first place. I'm being as fair as I can here, apparently he was a great teammate last year and the younger guys on the staff liked him and thought he helped out.
  13. Hey, one of my favorite players of all time is Lenny Dykstra. He's a total scumbag and he embraces it. And in his (short) prime, he was pretty damn good, too. I also adore Pete Rose. But those guys had game. Harvey no longer does.
  14. First of all, there's no hill and I'm not dying. Second, yeah, it was a stupid move. He's just not a good pitcher. He's serviceable but you can find a lot of guys that can replace that production without the drama of what just happened to him. I mean, Cueto would have been a much better option if Elias felt the need to bring in a veteran guy on a minor league deal who might have some gas in the tank and could be called upon in an emergency. If you disagree with that, well, I can't help you. I agree with @jamalshwand @Tony-OH, it sucks that some of the guys we were counting on have been injured or crapped the bed and yeah, there might be a need for Harvey in the very near future. I don't deny that and understand the need for a guy like Harvey. A guy like Harvey being the key part of the sentence there. I'd have much preferred Cueto because 1. He's a better pitcher. 2. He doesn't have a known history of cocaine use. 3. He hasn't recently served a suspension for distributing oxycodone. I'll be the first guy to admit that I don't need to have saints playing for my baseball team. But the talent has to outweigh any headaches, drama, suspensions, dirty laundry, etc.
